Hi I'm on aspirin as I had pre eclampsia at 36 weeks with my last, can they give you side effects?
Iv been taking them a week now since I was 12 weeks and I feel dizzy and sick a lot more. I'll be ok one minute then I get the rush of not feeling good,
hoping it will settle soon but just wondering if anyone else felt like this?

Hi @chell32, we're just bumping this thread for you - hopefully some Mumsnetters will be along soon with some advice and support. Flowers. Also, moving this over to the Pregnancy board for you.

I'm on aspirin due to pregnancy induced hypertension with my first pregnancy which didn't start until I was ten days overdue and find that if I take it on an empty stomach I feel nauseous etc after. Do you take it with or after food?

I also suffer from low iron which had the same symptoms - nausea, dizziness. I'm taking liquid iron which has really helped but again can make me feel a bit rough immediately after taking. What were your iron levels like at your initial bloods?

Did they say why they gave you aspirin versus heparin? Aspirin does have side effects especially if your blood pressure verges on low (it causes nosebleeds and vertigo for me even at small doses and I have a clotting disorder so theoretically it shouldn’t). Whereas low molecular heparin doesn’t.
