Did anyone have a line like this on a Sainsbury test and actually were pregnant?

Hi everyone,

I thought I’d post on the pregnancy board rather than conception given the nature of the question.

We’ve been going through IVF and I had some unusual mid-cycle spotting this month on one of our months off (ie between ivf cycles). I decided to take a test yesterday 5 days after spotting started and got this result. I’m trying not to get my hopes up too much as I have read a lot about false positives on Sainsbury’s tests (especially with skinny lines to the left...)

Did anyone have a result like this and it was a real positive?

Thanks so much in advance.

Take another test from first response or one of the amazon cheapies. I had sainsbury test before, it didn't look like that, but more of a faint line...my dh thought nah. your not pregnant. But I was, confirmed next day with a first response and now my ds is 5! Third time around, I use the cheap ones off the internet and those work just fine at picking up pregnancy.

Thanks mama bear (cute name). I should have added that I also took a frer and it was negative. I know what I really need to do is just wait and see a few more days to see if AF comes or I take another test but it’s been so hard not to get my hopes up in the mean time...

ah yes, wait for when aunt flo is due. Whenever I test before, it does not show. Except when I tested with sainsbury (one day before it was due) and same time I tested with clear blue it said negative, but I tested two with sainsbury (all at same time) and those said positive, but were faint, which is why I did clear blue after to check and it was negative...but next day did first response and got two dark pink lines :) My dh believed I was pregnant after he saw that test lol. Good luck!

PS Thats why I bought the internet cheapies to be able to test more often with out feeling guilty for wasting so much money and those worked day period was due.

And actually, I looked back at the old photo, and it looks obviously positive, just a faint line. I am thinking that sainsbury test you took looks more faulty, as its not a complete line and its all the way to the left. But again, you can still be lucky this month, as its still early and some women don't positive until days after AF is due...so just wait and see...which is the most difficult part!

Not what you want to hear but I took several Sainsburys tests and got lines like yours but not pregnant those months unfortunately. They’re dreadful for evap lines.

Sorry it’s not what you wanted to hear. FRERs have always been positive from 7 dpo on the three times I’ve been pregnant so I’d trust your FRER.

These are the worst tests. I have had many like that that were evaporation lines.

Just an update in case useful to anyone else. I wasn’t pregnant and am pretty convinced (from other tests) that it wasn’t a chemical. I think the sainsbury tests are a bit faulty...
