I know it's different for everyone but I'm interested to know when you were PG for the first time, when did your bump start to show? Brew

About 20 weeks I think for me to see a bump and probably around 24/26 for other people to really notice

EmeraldRubyShark · 17/06/2019 13:04

It depends on what you mean by ‘show’ I think!

There’s the showing where your belly is bigger than before and rounder, and the showing where your bump is actually all baby/uterus.

I’m 13wk and I’m showing in the former sense, have been since around 11wk, it was gradual until it suddenly became really difficult to hide. Basically as my uterus grew and rose out of the pelvic cavity it pushed my organs up and out too, so my belly is round but it’s a combo of organs, uterus, bloating and probably constipation. The baby is only the size of a lemon. I cannot suck it back in.

But then there’s the latter, I’ve heard that’s usually around 16-20wk in first time pregnancies. Guess I’ll find out. Maybe my bloat/organs bump will just be replaced by baby/uterus as I’m very slim but already look about 4-5months by the end of the day.

I had a full blown bump at 11 weeks with DD. Definitely wasn’t bloat because it never went away, didn’t get bigger or smaller during the day and was firm.

This time around, I have a bump at 9 weeks.

hannah9176 · 17/06/2019 13:19

First time for me too, I started showing about 20-21 weeks. Just popped from nowhere. Now 25 weeks with a v obvious bump 🤰🏼

fonxey · 17/06/2019 13:22

I have a small bump at 14 weeks but it started looking out i guess truly by 12. There was a bulge at 10 but mostly bloat.

aliensprig · 17/06/2019 13:23

I'm almost 13 weeks and just look vaguely fat, lol.

Kathryn19 · 17/06/2019 13:35

I looked bigger to myself at 20 weeks but it was still like I'd just gotten fatter to friends and family, and not noticeable at all to anyone else. Around 24/25 weeks I'd say it was a proper bump in tight clothing but could still be hidden easily. Only by around 28 weeks did it become near unmistakable, and now at 30 weeks it's not really possible to hide.

Lastbustowhitehawk · 17/06/2019 13:50

My clothes started feeling tighter from about 10 weeks and I had a noticeable bump from around 16 weeks.

Inthesky42 · 17/06/2019 15:27

I've got a small but noticeable bump at 14 weeks though it's mostly the lower part of my belly sticking out!

Kinsters · 17/06/2019 15:39

I haven't been able to do up my jeans since 8 or 9 weeks (despite not putting on any weight yet). I don't know if it's bloating or what but there's definitely a "bump" there already. I don't think anyone besides me, DH and close family would notice it yet though.

ELM8 · 17/06/2019 16:57

Had the fat/big lunch stage from about weeks 12-14 and more of a pregnant bump from 15

Teddybear45 · 17/06/2019 17:02

I thought I started showing properly at 15 weeks and then had a monster poo and now my stomach is flat again lol.

scratchbass · 17/06/2019 17:49

About 21 weeks, anything before that was just bloating which went away before the real bump came. It was actually quite sudden, I told work after my 20 week scan (had it at 21 weeks) and I was in maternity trousers that next week. I'm having another growth spurt now at 31 weeks.

Bernifal · 17/06/2019 17:50

I’m not hugely overweight but my bump is still measuring quite small, so at 37 weeks I have to tell people I’m pregnant! It’s absurd to me because I’ve weighed this much in the past, but I’ve never had my stomach be this large! My family thinks I’ve lost weight in the pregnancy and I think that’s true. It’s funny what you expect other people to notice/know about you and they really don’t.

Bernifal · 17/06/2019 17:51

*just to add - my bump is measuring small but baby’s measuring big, she’s on course for 10lbs.

Andersonx3 · 17/06/2019 17:59

I'm 16 weeks and 'popped' at about 15 weeks - my husband turned to me one day and told me I 'looked pregnant' - the work ladies guessed by then too! Only small but firm and round.

Meccacos · 18/06/2019 18:34

By week 8 none of my jeans fit.

My size 8 work skirts fits, but size 10 pants are starting to feel tight.

My boobs are also heavier and appear full.

LuLuLuLuLooooo · 18/06/2019 18:39

I'm 11 weeks and my tummy is noticeably bigger (to me, at least).

I'm normally very skinny so I guess that's why. I also know it's probably food, not baby!

aimingfor2019 · 18/06/2019 18:41

First baby here and moved into maternity jeans this week at 18weeks.
I just look very bloated at the moment. I wouldnt say I've 'popped' yet and can still fit squeeze into most of my normal jeans.

FirstDD19 · 18/06/2019 21:48

20 weeks... proper bump at 22 weeks

qj17 · 19/06/2019 01:45

I was 25 weeks before I started to notice, now 35 weeks and people are now noticing. I carry small clearly.

CatRash · 19/06/2019 07:41

24 weeks or thereabouts with my first. I think I carry fairly small as I never got a big round bump.

I'm 11 weeks now and definitely put on a bit of weight and bloated but I know it's not baby as uterus is only just beginning to come out from behind pubic bone so it's impossible.

Sofin · 19/06/2019 09:02

First pregnancy, other people started noticing when I was 18 weeks (although I needed maternity clothes from 12 weeks). I am currently 11 weeks with my second and close family has already started to notice! Wear baggy clothes for others not to though

MamaofboysFandE · 19/06/2019 09:31

About 19 weeks or so with my first (but even then it was tiny!) 16 with my second and just found out I'm pregnant with my 3rd and already feeling so bloated so have a feeling I'll be showing even sooner this time around!

TurquoiseDress · 19/06/2019 10:05

With my first pregnancy it was around 22 weeks- my belly just seemed to pop out!

It was another month or so before I looked "obviously" pregnant to others
