I am 5 months pregnant and all day i have had pain in my lower stomach. I suppose it could be described as bad period pains but i’ve never had them before. Is it anything to worry about?

Someone said it may be Braxton Hicks?

I have a consultant apt tomorrow so i can mention to him as well.

Hmmm - I wouldn't say Braxton hicks. That tends to be a muscular feeling - a tightening, and often you can see or feel by touch the contractions.

But could it be trapped wind? Or if you're suffering from constipation that might cause cramps. Likewise, your womb will be expanding and that can come with a crampy feeling.

Could it be a UTI? I suspect I've had a few mild ones this pregnancy that I've flushed out with lots of water. No pain urinating but definite pain/pulling feeling low down/ under bump

I had my consultant apt yesterday and my wee tested fine but they sent some off just in case. The pain was so bad they sent me to the maternity unit at the hospital where they checked that my cervix wasn’t opening. Fun!

They’ve put it down to my ligaments stretching but it’s so bloody painful! Did anyone else experience this pain?
