Mucus plug? How do you know?

Wondering if I lost some of my mucus plug earlier. I'm 37+3, and at my last appointment DD was estimated as 2/5 engaged. She was also estimated at 7lb - which I know is guesswork - but has made me hopeful she won't go another 4 weeks.

Anyway am wondering if i lost a bit of mucus plug earlier. It was more discharge than I've had in pregnancy - or ever really. Thick and stringy and clear but tinged very lightly pink. I'll spare you a picture because ew, but wondered if it sounds about right? Definitely or the full bloody show.

I've been walking lots and dtd this morning - wondered if that might have dislodged it?

There was no mistaking it either time for me. First time I was in hospital being induced and I felt it go PLOP down the loo, second time I was overdue and went for a wee in the middle of the night. I wiped and something like elastic came out of me and slapped me right on the arm, ha! Nothing glamorous about pregnancy is there.

Yours sounds very much like mine was in my 3rd pregnancy. There was so bloody much of it!!!

Mine looked like a jellyfish. Much bigger than the 50p sized blob I’d been expecting!

Thanks all. Mine certainly wasn't the full affair so I'll keep an eye out for anything else. Lovely.

Could be wishful thinking as I'd love her to come sooner rather than later. Though I should probably finish work first!

Yep... sounds right. Mine was literally like gelatinous, whiteish snot with a little blood spot.

I am 36+2 and I have been losing my mucus plug since last Tuesday and bit by bit wondering when will I go to labour I am trying to VBAC and I do not want to go 42 weeks then get balloon induced.

with all 3 of mine i got increased discharge that looked like that .. apparantly normal

I wondered the same before I had my first. But when it came out it was unmistakable....much bigger than I’d imagined!

I think you can lose a bit if your mucus plug and it grow back
