I am only 4+4 but woken up with a horrible cold and really sore throat.
I know I cant take cold and flu tablets but can I take strepsils?

The box says contact pharmacist or GP but neither are open today.

I am 99.99999% sure they are absolutely fine. I can’t imagine they’ve got anything worse than paracetamol in them, and you can have that.

Thank you for replying. Glad I can take something

I always avoided them. I'm pretty sure they even say avoid any type of menthol in pregnancy. It's crap being pregnant and ill!

I had one or two a day for a couple of days when I was about that far gone as I'm a teacher and had the worst throat - couldn't bear to talk otherwise. I just had them very sparingly 👍🏼

I have only had one so far and that just took the edge off. Think will just only take if absolutely necessary.

I've been taking them - 2-3 a day for the past few days. I did a fair bit of Googling and can't see a reason not to.

Most medicines come with that warning because they've not been specifically tested on pregnant women, not because they're actually a risk. Just use as little as possible and you'll be fine.
