Hi folks,

I tested today after my period didn't show up on Thursday and the test came up positive. Well, all 3! I have been getting average, for me, period pain in the pubic area, have a raised temperature and am very fatigued. Is this normal? I am worried about the period cramping in that area (a dull ache and an upset stomach' crampy stomach), in case of miscarriage. Any advice welcome! Thanks.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I've also been feeling very sick, just to add.
Thanks in advance everyone!
I'm super worried.

The night before I got my BFP I had period type pains all night and was convinced my period was starting. I think it's the uterus stretching?!
Congratulations!

Just to add, I'm now 18+4 and everything was fine! I had cramping on and off for a few weeks.

Morningchorus · 15/06/2019 20:28

Hey! I was exactly the same. I'm 5+3, had positive at 3+5.
For the last week I've had cramping like my period is about to come on every day, intermittently with a bit of lower back pain. Waves of nausea hit me every afternoon, although not yet been sick.
I'm also completely wiped out with fatigue!

Think it's all normal 😊

Thanks for the reply! And Thank you!
Congrats to you too!
How long did you have the symptoms for? I've been having them for about 3 days now.

Thanks folks.
I'm not sure how far along I am, not much, my last period was 17th May and I'm 3 days late for this one.
The pelvic aching comes on a lot and has stuck around most of yesterday/today. It helps to know others have gone through this!
I haven't been pregnant before so any advice welcomed!

I had period-like cramps on and off throughout my entire first pregnancy - perfectly normal!

You mentioned a raised temperature though - that's worth keeping an eye on, as fever can cause issues in the first trimester. While ideally you shouldn't take any medication in the first trimester, paracetamol to lower a fever is considered less risky than the fever itself, providing you only take a few doses.

ElleReynolds91 · 15/06/2019 21:06

Cheers!
Well, I say raised temperature but I mean, I just feel very warm like you do before a period. I haven't tested my temperature with a thermo. I'm hoping it's normal!

Did yours settle and come back? I'm hoping these will settle as it's been a good few days and it runs into the legs, often like how I get with pmt 🙈

I’m 9 weeks and have had constant cramping. It’s been awful. I end up doubled over in pain.

I also get temperatures on occasion. Australia is at the start of a killer flu season and partner and family members are sick with it.

So far I haven’t got the flu - just a low grade cold.

Have you had an period type aches/cramping while trying to use the loo? Sorry for TMI but when I go for a BM, I get a lot of pressure in the pubic area. Is this normal?

@ElleReynolds91 Congrats! Was the first day of your last period 17th May? If so then you'll be around 4 weeks + 5 days.

I didn't start getting any sickness until around 5 and a bit weeks but I had already had period type pain which makes sense when you think about how your uterus is already growing and stretch to accommodate baby once it's bigger Smile

Cheers! I'm about 5+4 now. Trying to steer clear of the internet a bit. I've read so much about missed miscarriages that I've freaked myself out! But I appreciate any and all advice if anyone has any.
Thanks for the reply 😁
