So I usually feel baby move everyday quite a few times sometimes really strong movements! But today I’ve only felt her once for a brief moment this morning and that was after me jiggling her about and pressing down to get her to kick back! She did kick back and move around but has been really quiet! Not sure if I’m panicking too much but I’ve also had sharp horrible
Round ligament type pains around my bump and groin, still early on so is it normal to go a day and not feel much?

I would never risk it ring your midwife. They should tell you to come in so the can check babies heartbeat /movements etc. With my first pregnancy I went in a couple of times for a similar reason everything turned out to be ok but it was better safe than sorry. I also found drinking a sugary fizzy drink often got my DD moving.

Thanks but it wouldn’t be an Emergancy appointment at 21 weeks because still early and I have a anterior placenta :/ will try call the maternity ward but usually they don’t do much for this early on apparently

I don't think they will put you on a monitor till after 28 weeks, but if you're really worried it's worth talking to someone and seeing if you can go in and get them to check heartbeat.

I'm 22 weeks and baby seems to have the odd quiet day, as did my first baby. Hopefully yours is also just having a quiet day but always worth ringing a midwife if you are concerned.

Im 19wks had pain not felt my baby much they told me to come in this morning, let me hear my babies heartbeat checked my cervix was closed, did urine sample etc,i have a UTI so would say doesnt matter how many weeks u are its worth phoning better to be safe.

At this stage it can just be that they've moved into a harder to feel position. Past 24 weeks then you should get checked if there are changes in movement.

Buddytheelf85 · 15/06/2019 16:50

Speaking personally, at that stage my baby’s movements weren’t in the slightest bit regular.

No harm in ringing the hospital to ask though.

Just ring your midwife.

EscapeTheOrdinary · 15/06/2019 17:42

I hope you have already called them but if not do. I had similar at 23 weeks and they said come straight in. They said they couldn’t do more than check babies heart beat and test me but it was reassuring and she wanted to make sure I was happy before I left

Beth2016xxx · 15/06/2019 19:28

I rang them and she said they won’t see anyone this early she gave me the community midwife number to ring, I have felt baby this morning just going to see if she moves more after I’ve eaten and if not i’ll Ring them up

You shouldn't wait....ring the midwife now. That's what they're there for!

Frazzled2207 · 15/06/2019 20:55

If it helps I had an anterior placenta and didn't get regular movements until about 22 weeks. I think it's too early for a pattern to have developed. Also baby is still quite small so can find places to "hide".

Do keep in touch with your midwife though if she doesn't start shifting around soon but I honestly wouldn't panic.

Beth2016xxx · 15/06/2019 20:59

I have an anterior placenta too!! Thanks for being reassuring!! I have felt small movements and her this morning. Probably because my placentas anterior I’ve felt less too, thanks!

Managed to get seen in labour ward! If anyone reads this with a similar situation it turns out baby had wriggled down to my pelvis that’s why I hadn’t felt much movement and had ligament type pains and I also have a anterior placenta! Was there for 10’mins heard baby’s heart beat and now home and more relaxed

im in exactly the same position feel regular strong movements some days and hardly anything on others I’m 21 weeks what I try and keep in my mind also is I had a 20 week scan and she moved so much during it and I couldn’t feel any of them so it’s good to know that they are still moving even we can’t always feel it xxx

SophL123 · 23/09/2023 06:34
