handhold needed - worried I might be pregnant

I can't remember when my last period was, but it was definitely more than 4 weeks ago.

I've been on the mini-pill, which has messed up my cycle - but about 3 weeks ago DP and I had sex on a day when I hadn't realised I'd forgotten to take my pill. I only realised a couple of days later when I noticed I was taking Thursday's pill (marked with the day) on a Friday.

My cycle has been all over the place since I came off Mirena and onto the mini-pill, so I'm praying it's just screwing with my hormones, but... it's definitely been a long time since I had a period. Kicking myself for not tracking it - I just never kept the habit of writing things down while on Mirena as my period had stopped entirely.

Taking a test today and don't want to say anything to DP until I know.

Just reaching out here for a handhold - hope that's OK...

Hey,

Take a test and then you can see what’s going on. There’s no point letting your mind run away from you till you have some facts. It could be something or nothing.

Ditto take a test.

Hi, I didn’t want to read and run because I’ve been here.
I am currently sat with a 5 month old on my lap from missing one of my pills last year.
I was in a similar situation, wasn’t sure when id last had a period but I had pregnancy symptoms and that’s what made me test.
I chose not to tell my dp until I had tested.
I tested positive , I sat on the toilet hyperventilating. I was terrified! The time in our life wasn’t great but we have figured it out.
Once I told my dp he was amazing, I knew instantly that abortion wasn’t an option for me and he didn’t even consider not continuing with the Pregnancy.

I tho k you have to consider if you are pregnant what your options are.

Good lord. Took a test around midday, showed up negative, period arrived around 3pm.

Facepalm.

Thanks to all of you for responding – even just a little 'we see you' really helped!

But wow... the fear yesterday was REAL. There I was thinking I might be open to having kids sometime soon, and then when there was a possibility it might be out of my hands I was PRAYING for a negative test.

@harrypotterfan1604 did you think you wanted kids (in general, obviously not as a surprise) before you fell pregnant? And congratulations on your LO, by the way!

I'm 32, feel like I should be thinking about this seriously now, and cannot for the life of me make sense of my feelings...

I was so torn! I thought I wanted children but my partner didn’t want any and that didn’t bother me so kinda just went with it. Turns out it’s the best thing we ever did
