Gender scans??

I have a 16 week gender scan booked next week, I habe never went for such an early private scan before so just wondered how accurate it is. Has anyone had bad experiences of them being wrong about the sex, or good ones of them being right?

I've had 2 & both correct...one boy & one girl

I had one and they said boy, then at 20w scan they said girl and then I had to have another NHS scan where she said she thinks boy but not 100%. So I think they are accurate but can only confirm once baby is here in October!

I've heard mixed things about getting gender scan at that point.

They said they cldnt see clearly at my 20 EK scan but in what they saw though it was a girl but weren't sure 🤷🏻‍♀️ which was very helpful, she shld have just said she cldnt tell.

I got a private 4D scan at 29 and 30 weeks and they confirmed that it was a girl. There's no mistakes at that point, genitals are a lot more developed and clearer. I'm going to do the same again with this baby as you also get a well being scan to check everything is ok.

I had one at 16wks and it was accurate as it was the same as my harmony test. I think as the equipment is getting better, the scans are getting more accurate

Sounds like mixed reports on the scans, hoping they get a nice clear view and a definite answer! But ill prob not tell people the sex until 20 week one just to be safe 🙂

I have my scan Saturday to find out the sex I will be 17 weeks I'm so excited but so nervous at the same time as I don't won't then to get it wrong haha

I had my dates all wrong with my first child so at my 12 week scan I was actually 16+ weeks. It was very clear she was a girl from the scan, like looking at a real little baby vulva!
This was 9 years ago so I'd imagine equipment is better now as well.

I had one at 16 weeks and there was a definite penis! Ill attach a pic.. im due for another 16 week early gender with Baby #3 on July 7th!

Just to update incase anyone else is wondering the same as I was, I had the scan yesterday, it was so clear and baby was so developed the sonographer could easily see babys bits and im pretty sure its a definite boy lol (pic attached)
