BabyMadandBIGbump · 24/07/2007 17:29

We got it, we are on low income DH works so we get WFTC "Working Family tax", we got the full amount, and within 14 days!

theUrbanDryad · 24/07/2007 20:27

we got it too, as we get the higher amount of Child Tax Credit. why do you ask? do you need help with applying?

Chirpygirl · 24/07/2007 20:37

I have to hijack and ask, what is the higher amount of CTC, or how is it defined? I can't get any info from anywhere!

asur · 24/07/2007 20:57

higher amount of child tax credit means if you get more than £547/year (£1094 if you have child under 1).

Can I ask, the form needs to be signed by a health professional - who did you all get to sign it and do you have to make an appointment just to get it signed? Can I just hand it in to health centre for them to deal with and post? TIA

tassisssss · 24/07/2007 20:59

i got a midwife to sign it at an antenatal appointment. It took her about 2 seconds.

asur · 24/07/2007 21:08

thanks

Dawn2820 · 25/07/2007 00:07

i am currently single and living on my own i earn less than 16,000 per year - do you think i will get it or not as at the moment i dont claim anything

OP posts:
sparklygothkat · 25/07/2007 00:13

you might not get it before the birth, but should get it afterwards, when you have claimed WTC and CTC. You can claim up to 3 months after the birth

Dawn2820 · 25/07/2007 00:15

would you suggest trying now -or waiting until i am claiming CTC i just dont want to miss it as i am not sure how long it takes to put CTC into action and if it takes longer than 3 months i may lose out on SSMG

OP posts:
sparklygothkat · 25/07/2007 00:16

CTC takes no time, if they do it right.. you could try at 29 weeks, but doubt you will get it.

sparklygothkat · 25/07/2007 00:17

you are due 5 days before me

Dawn2820 · 25/07/2007 00:17

Thanks hun i may get the paperwork ready and send off for CTC and then the grant

its a mine field with tax credits, like i say i am single live on my own and am paying all the bills i have no idea what i can be entitled to claim for
