Hi I had a growth scan today I'm 33+1 they said the estimated weight was 4lb 8oz and said he is on the smaller side? I ofcourse googled it and it says this is an ok weight for how many weeks I am?

You will have a personalised baby growth graph in your notes that is based on things like your weight/height and previous babies’ weight. It’s worth noting that growth scans are extremely inaccurate.

Your baby should be putting on about half a lb a week from now until it's born, so that seems about right. They're very inaccurate though. I had a scan at 36+6 with estimated weight at 6lb 1oz and he was born the next day at 7lbs. I didn't have s personalised growth chart (as far as I'm aware) but it doesn't overly matter what percentile the baby is in as long as they continue to gain weight. All the percentiles tell you is that X amount of babies per 100 are bigger/smaller than your baby.

Growth scans are very inaccurate. I was told my little boy was 6lb 9 2 weeks before he was born. He was born at 37 weeks weighing 5lb 6.

On the other end my cousin was told her baby was 7lb 5 and a week later was almost 9lb!!

Take no notice of them

Wierd , i estimated at 3lb 7 at 33 weeks and they were happy with everything shes now estimated to come out at 8lb

My last scan was 33+1 and she was 4lb. Iv now got a consultant apt next week as she is not following the curve and is on 9th centile.
