22 weeks - take antenatal notes on holiday?

Hello ladies,

I'm going on holiday this weekend for a week and will be 22 weeks. Would you take all your notes on holiday? I don't want to lose them, but might be sensible..?

Thank you!

Yes you should take them with you

MummaGiles · 13/06/2019 21:21

Yes, better to have them and not need them than the other way around

Interesting I’m in the same position and wasn’t going to take mine. I really didn’t want to lose them if my luggage gets lost and awfully I thought if the worst was to happen I’m not sure how the notes would help?? Mine don’t even have my blood type or anything like that in them just has the notes about me my midwife has put in from the first few appointments.

Shitsandgigglez · 13/06/2019 21:45

I would take them yes. If you're worried about losing them take a photocopy

Shitsandgigglez · 13/06/2019 21:46

Plus I'd keep them with other docs like passport anyway so not likely to get lost. Don't pack in check in suitcase

soundsystem · 13/06/2019 21:48

Oh interesting! I'm off on holiday next week at 28 weeks and hadn't occurred to me to take them. But probably should...

Although I'm low risk and I'm not sure there's much in them I/DH wouldn't be able to tell someone if needed...

MollyFaith00 · 14/06/2019 05:53

Thanks so much ladies! I will definitely take them!

@Zarara @soundsystem I was thinking the same - like, what will they even have in them? BUT I am rhesus negative so that is in there, and I guess there could be things that aren't important to us but could be for doctors..?!?

@Shitsandgigglez good point! I'll put them in the safe with the passports 😂

Thanks all!

@MollyFaith00 I went on hols at 27 weeks and just photocopied all the relevant bits midwife had filled in from my notes and kept in my carry on luggage 😊 better to have them with you and peace of mind knowing the originals are safe at home!

I’m going away tommorrow to Cyprus for 2 weeks and also 22 weeks and I will be taking my notes in hand luggage.
Im high risk and have consultant today. I usually have to inject clexane daily from 26-28 weeks to 6 weeks postnatally but I also usually have to inject for any flight over 4 hours as precaution against clots so my specialist midwife thinks he may just get me to start now. Hope not as already have 5 suitcases. I’ve got no hand luggage myself as my wedding dress has to go on as hand luggage!!

Yep definitely, I had a bleed on holiday and had to go to a local hospital so was really useful having all my notes. Plus they're hardly heavy, might as well Smile
