Hi everyone,

I came home to a letter informing me of a scan that will take place in my 38th week of pregnancy. I'm just wondering if this is normal? I have had no indication that there are any problems, having just had the usual amount of appointments so far, and apart from my mental health everything is going swimmingly with the baby

I wasn't aware that we have scans after the 20 week one? I'm excited but also curious to know if it means something is wrong

I had a growth scan at 38 weeks due to a previous pregnancy where baby was very small.

Also had one at 34 weeks.

I think it depends on where you live.
I am on a growth pathway due to maternal age (purely precautionary so far) so have scans at 27, 31, 35 and 39 weeks.

Some areas are doing late scans (around 36 weeks) to check the position of the baby too - maybe it is that? I'd just ring them and ask tbh.

I'm seeing my midwife tomorrow so will ask her, shes done 2 growth checks so far and said everything was coming along nicely, its my first baby so I guess I am just being a little worried about it

thank you ladies!
