Hi ladies
Hoping some of can share me your 'it was ok stories' of bleeding at 13 weeks..

I spent the night in A&E last night after having a gush when I got up from the sofa to go to bed. Blood was quite dark red and turned brown fairly quickly. It's now still brown but has some stringy bits. Have to wait until tomorrow for a scan and I'm super nervous worrying that I'm losing the baby.. We literally just told work and all our friends so it would be so terrible to have to re-tell them it all went wrong :'( hoping some of you can give me some positive stories to hold on to...

Hope you're okay, I'm afraid I don't have any positive stories but I know how you feel as I started spotting like a pinkish red bloody discharge on Saturday that got heavier throughout the day. Went to A&E and after a 2 hour wait they scanned me and I saw the baby moving and saw and heard the heartbeat. But since then I'm still getting brown spotting on and off and mucus jelly like brown stuff when I wipe.
I'm terrified I'm gonna miscarry, I'm 22 weeks today and my first official scan is tomorrow but I'm worried they'll be no heartbeat. I'm getting panic attacks, I just hope the baby is ok and they will be able to find out what's going on.
Good luck with your scan, I hope it all goes well xx

I meant I'm 12 weeks today, sorry, not 22, typo

So sorry to hear your worrying.
I've had 2 miscarriages myself so know how awful you must be feeling.

2 of my friends bled around that time. 1 at 10-13wks turned out she had an hematoma. A small pool of blood outside the sac. All was fine and baby is ok.
My other friend bled from about 14wks-30wks she had a low lying placenta. Her baby was fine.

Hope everything is ok for you both

Thank you kee80, sorry to hear you've had 2 miscarriages Flowers

I can't remember if I was just under or just over 12 weeks. Had a gush, just like you describe. A few tiny clots. Bright red blood but no pain. Was very scary. Was convinced it was all over. Had a scan a few days later and everything was fine, blood wasn't coming from anything near the baby. I'm now 36 weeks.
I hope you get good news at your scan x

I had a massive bleed at 14 weeks. Baby was fine. They said it was due to my placement covering cervix and would likely move up by 20! Weeks (it did)

Because it was a big bleed I was put on the small gestational pathway (tick box said major bleed post 12 weeks) and had growth scans as part of that

Hi there!

I'm so glad I found your post as I've had the same today! I had a bit of brown blood at 6.5 weeks and had a scan at 7 weeks and all okay with no explanation. Had my 13 week scan Thursday last week where they dated me 13 weeks, now being 13+5 and all healthy.

Yesterday I noticed blood when I wiped after a wee, and more today so popped to the doctors and he said my urine had no sign of infection but game me some tablets. I didn't feel I trusted him so I called EPU and am having a scan tomorrow morning too. I don't have lots and feel like I have thrush at the same time.

Please keep me updated with yourself and try not to worry. I also had a MC in January at 8 weeks so know the feeling you have.

Take care and good luck for tomorrow! X

@charliep92 you too! We're due date buddies! Let's hope we both have healthy babies just before Xmas.. Keep me updated on yours x

All okay for me, no given reason for the bleeding but think it's urine related so just going to drink lots of water!

Hope you have a positive result!

Inthesky42 · 12/06/2019 09:50

Glad to hear everything is OK!

My scan is 1130 today.. Keeping everything crossed

I've had two small bleeds, one at 8 weeks and one at 19 weeks. Both similar to what you describe and the blood turned brown and then stopped quite quickly (the stringy/clotty bits worried me too). Baby was fine both times- I have cervical erosion which they think may have caused the bleeds as my cervix was closed both times on examination and there was no reason shown on the scan for it. I'm sure you and your baby will be ok x

kee80 · 12/06/2019 09:59

@Inthesky42 thinking of you today. I'm sure everything will be fine and baby will be ok.
Stay positive xx

kkl1 · 12/06/2019 11:23

Good luck x

Inthesky42 · 12/06/2019 13:23

Scan showed everything was OK... Phew!

Looks like the placenta is slightly over my cervix which could have caused the bleed but they weren't concerned about it at this fairly early stage and say it will probably move.

Pregnancy is so bloody worrying!!

@Inthesky42 that's wonderful news.
I had a low lying placenta and had to go back for scans at 30wks and 34wks. At the 34wk Scan it had totally moved

Inthesky42 · 15/06/2019 09:46

I've still got brown bleeding (not as heavy as period but more than spotting) it's now been 6 days since the bigger bleed on Monday... Trying to keep positive in that we saw baby all OK on Wednesday so hopefully this will stop soon!

@Inthesky42 I had the exact same thing with DS2... my placenta did move but I had continuous bleeding for ages. When it happens just remind yourself you know placenta is low and if you're not in pain (contractions pain) chances are it's just from the placenta position. Always call your epu / midwife if you're worried for reassurance

kee80 · 15/06/2019 10:54

I agree with @Mintypea5 try not to worry to much. My friend who had low lying placenta she bled on and off from 14wks - 38wks. All was fine. I agree though if your worried then contact epu they may want you to keep going back for regular scans. That's what happened with my friend

Inthesky42 · 15/06/2019 12:24

Thank you! Hearing its happened to others is massively reassuring xx
