Is lack of actual sickness a bad thing?

I’ve had nausea - feeling like I’m going to be sick, gagging etc and thrown up once or twice - I’m nearly 11 weeks but haven’t been physically sick much and I’m wondering if that’s a bad sign as I was reading on another thread where people said they had MC when they didn’t have sickness

Try not to worry, some people don't get any sickness. I only had very mild nausea with my first...I'm currently nine weeks with my second and it seems much the same (I am very grateful!)

yellowgreenbluepurple · 10/06/2019 21:28

A lack of morning sickness can indicate a reduced level of pregnancy hormones, which can indicate a problem with how the pregnancy is progressing.

My personal experience is that in my first pregnancy I felt queasy and was sick once but it ended in a MMC at 10 weeks. For the next two pregnancies the difference was remarkable. I was physically sick and very nauseous from early on. However some people don't get sickness at all and there is nothing wrong and even different pregnancies for the same person can be very different and fine.

I wasn’t sick once with any of my 4 pregnancies. All full term good weights now all grown adults.
It’s fine

parrotonthesofa · 10/06/2019 21:32

Didn't feel sick at all and I had twins!

AmICrazyorWhat2 · 10/06/2019 21:34

I had only mild nausea, although I did feel v. tired sometimes (turned out I had low iron levels). Both my pregnancies were uneventful, with healthy babies at the end.

Just be thankful, some of my friends were so sick for months, it was horrible for them.

tessiegirl · 10/06/2019 21:35

Absolutely ridiculous of pp to suggest there is a correlation.
I had no actual sickness throughout. Just felt a bit sick in the evenings until I was 12 weeks then nothing. All absolutely fine.
Do not worry op!

Cuppaand2biscuits · 10/06/2019 21:35

I wasn't sick in my first pregnancy at all, just felt queasy. Had a lovely healthy
easy pregnancy and healthy baby born at 41 weeks.
Try not to worry.

Mrsjayy · 10/06/2019 21:38

I never vomitted i felt dreadful the nausea was all day but wasn't sick.

Leleophants · 10/06/2019 21:38

Haven't actually vomited once and very healthy 20 week pregnancy :)

Babdoc · 10/06/2019 21:38

I only vomited twice in my entire first pregnancy, OP, and produced an 8lb 5oz baby at 39 weeks. She’s now a 29 year old maths graduate! Stop worrying.

Fantababy · 10/06/2019 21:39

I wasn't sick at all with either of my pregnancies. Have two healthy girls.

feelingdizzy · 10/06/2019 21:39

I was never remotely sick in my pregnancies, kids are nearly all grown up now and fine. I dont know if there is an hereditary element ,my mum had 6 kids never any sickness.

cakeandchampagne · 10/06/2019 21:39

That is absolutely not true!
Please worry about something else. Smile

Mrsjayy · 10/06/2019 21:40

I lie I had a uti with dd1 and threw up a few times.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 10/06/2019 21:40

Rubbish- not sick once, felt nauseas but never sick- good pregnancy, natural birth- all fine (thankfully). It’s not related

wombatron · 10/06/2019 21:41

Currently 33 weeks with no sickness whatsoever.

Something else will get ya don't worry - for me I was plain sailing till 26weeks, then BOOM! Heartburn got me and I now own shares in Gaviscon.

Try not to stress yourself over it, everyone is different

Peakypolly · 10/06/2019 21:41

No sickness in first and third pregnancy (DD’s), tiny bit sick with second pregnancy (DS). All healthy and full-term.

yellowgreenbluepurple · 10/06/2019 21:43

@cakeandchampagne @tessiegirl

It's not ridiculous or made up, there is a link, not fully understood however it's important to realise that just because you don't get nausea doesn't mean your pregnancy won't be successful. (As all the stories here show.)

harper30 · 10/06/2019 21:44

Don't let things like that worry you, and talk to your midwife if it's really bothering you, don't start googling it, just speak to your midwife.
I wasn't sick once for my entire pregnancy, and DD is a year old and healthy. The most I had was maybe a lack of appetite, not sickness.
Best of luck with the pregnancy!! Try to enjoy the bits you can :)

Divebar · 10/06/2019 21:46

I had nausea for about 10 minutes and then was absolutely fine for the rest of the pregnancy. Went on to have a very healthy, bouncy baby girl.

AllFourOfThem · 10/06/2019 21:47

I’ve had six pregnancies and never had any sickness.

My understanding is that it’s a concern if you had a symptom (like morning sickness) and then it abruptly stops, rather than if you never had the symptom at all.

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 10/06/2019 21:50

I was not sick once in either of my pregnancies. Only had the occasional wave of nausea when doing things like changing the bins or brushing teeth. My hcg hormones were normal and healthy. I wouldn't worry about it.

cravingmilkshake · 10/06/2019 21:53

I haven't been sick once and this is my first pregnancy. I'm 34 weeks and 1 day and all progressing well with my little girl! I felt almost "jet lagged" for a couple of days at 8 weeks but that was it!

qj17 · 10/06/2019 21:57

It's a luxury Iv had none and I'm 34 weeks. Count myself lucky as got a few friends suffering.

Gooseygoosey12345 · 10/06/2019 21:59

Nope! Had no sickness with DS (until I was much further gone then threw up out of the blue 3 separate times). Was a nice surprise after HG with DD! DS is now a very healthy almost 2 year old Smile
