Do you think I’m pregnant?

Just starting Thursday I had some really light bleeding on my pad, which looked just like implantation bleeding and it was right when my period was due. It was so faint and only lasted a couple of hours, I also have been having stomach cramps, headaches, backaches and occasionally sore boobs like mild shooting pains in my boobs, I also have felt very tired and just on Friday I could barely move because my muscles were aching that much, and I keep getting weird sensations in my stomach, I took a test on Saturday and was convinced it was going to say positive but it was a negative, could I still be pregnant and I took the test too early? I have missed some pills and not been using condoms recently

Also forgot to mention my period hasn’t come yet and it should have by now

I still had a period right at the beginning of my pregnancy, but it was very light and only lasted 3 days, so I would say yes there’s a chance. Your best bet is to wait a few days and if nothing changes to take another test. However I did do a test when I finished bleeding and it showed positive straight away. Are you hoping to be pregnant?

Only advice is to either get an early test or wait a few days. This happened to me once and I was just a week late, it all went a bit haywire.

Really? How was it possible? I was actually thinking about going to the doctor’s and asking for a blood test as it detects the pregnancy hormone much quicker than a test, I’m just currently taking each day as it comes, it may all be in my head but I really do “feel” different and yes I am!

Home pregnancy tests are pretty accurate these days. GPs generally won't order a blood test with your period a few days late (unless it's medically necessary) as a home test would tell you at about the same stage as a blood test...

The internet cheapies can be really late and feint so I’d go with first response or clear blue. I had a period which never really took off and my cup kept falling out which never happens! Turns out it must have been implantation bleeding. Bright red but watery to start (which all the pages I read say is not common but I’ve actually had with 2 of my pregnancies). I did a test day before bleed and it was stark white but definitely felt more and more pregnant. Did another cheapie about a week after period due and came up but really light. Other brands were properly dark though.
Doubt dr would order blood test tbh.

A GP isn’t going to take a blood test just because you want one, especially as you haven’t even done a home pregnancy test. Do a test, they aren’t expensive. Give it a few days and do another.

Teddybear45 · 09/06/2019 23:52

The test was negative only one day before your period was due so it’s probably fairly accurate, but if you want wait 7 days for your period and test again.

I did do a home pregnancy test, I really am sure the test was wrong my body feels so different like it’s never felt this way before, I never even have experienced these feelings like sore boobs and store stomach before my periods, it’s all new to me

I would wait for a few days and do another test. It could be it was too early. And test first thing in the morning.

SnowyAlpsandPeaks · 10/06/2019 09:39

Do an early test, but you may be testing to early. A GP will not do a blood test just because you’ve asked for one, you need to be late, and not just a few days, really really late before they will do one, and you don’t meet any of that criteria yet.

If the bleeding on Thursday was implantation, your HCG levels should have risen enough to show on a test now - I would test again.

Alternatively, maybe missing pills has caused you to have a bit of breakthrough bleeding?

SoHotADragonRetired · 10/06/2019 14:48

Missing several pills can disorder your hormones and mimic many pregnancy symptoms. Many women have months of "pregnancy symptoms" and no period when they stop the pill.

Unless you are one of the tiny minority of women who don't excrete HCG into your urine a blood test isn't going to tell you anything a urine test won't. Pregnant enough for symptoms is generally pregnant enough for a positive test.
