Just sent DH to the shop for some rennies! I am only 21 weeks and I get heartburn/acid when I eat, i had weetabix for breakfast 2 hours ago and still feel sick from heartburn! I think I had tums at the end with DD as didn't get it that bad and what I did have was right at the end!!

I swear this little boy hates me he better be a good baby unlike his sister because Iv had every bad symptom there is with him! 😂

So what is best for heartburn / acid please 💖

If it continues badly I would go to GP and get omreprezole (sp?) it's the only thing that helped me, nothing over the counter worked.... and I tried altering my diet but that didn't work either.

@redbedheadd yes iv noticed banana and chocolate really make it worse! Will go to GP if nothing helps what did you try before that? Xx

Gaviscon and ranitidine are safe and worth a try.

AnneLovesGilbert · 08/06/2019 11:50

I got ranitidine prescribed and it was a game changer. Nothing over the counter touched it and it was so bad it was making me cough and if hurt to even drink water some days.

Hope it helps and you feel better soon!

Zantac can be bought over the counter in a pharmacy, it has the same active ingredient as Ranatidine which is prescription only.

It stops the acid being produced so works differently.

It works very quickly for me. The prescription vesion is double strength so taking 2 would not be an issue if necessary but do your own research on Google before taking it to make sure you have nothing that is a contraindication.

Liquid gaviscon did the job for me (lots of it). Found it much better than the gaviscon tablets.

Thanks everyone 😁 xx

I feel your pain it's absolutely shit. I'm guzzling gaviscon (got it in prescription) but I would prefer to try ranitidine. My doctors after like they had never heard of a pregnant woman having heartburn and wanting a remedy!
