Backache and leg cramps keeping me awake - 25 weeks

Just wondering if anyone is in the same boat really.

Im getting very achey at the minute and its really disrupting my sleep. Also having cramps in my calf - though thats easing since I started pilates and doing some stretches.

I have fibromyalgia -- so im a bit apprehensive about how the lack of sleep will affect me, its important to try and break the cycle of poor sleep, leading to more pain but I dont know if it is possible during pregnancy. I know sleep is going to be an issue when baba arrives too, so Im wondering if now might be the time to start developing new sleeping habits (ie napping in the day time).

Do you have any tips to help sleeping during pregnancy?

Have you had your blood test to test iron levels yet?
I'm currently 38 weeks, but around 25weeks I always had back ache and I started getting bad leg cramps most nights. I didn't realise iron levels were soo bad and the midwife said that the leg cramps were most likely due to that. Once I started taking the iron tablets I've only had maybe 1 or 2 leg cramps since.

In term's of napping in the day, if you can, then definitely do it. I wish I could nap, but my body just doesn't let me, Ive been getting between 3 and 6 hours sleep this week and I can not manage to get to sleep in the day at all.
But if you're body is saying you need sleep in the day and you can, definitely try ☺️

I havent had my iron levels tested recently but they were all good at the start of the pregnancy. I know I will be getting a blood test at my next ante natal appointment in a few weeks so should find out then if there are any issues. I have a good diet and also taking pregnacare so I hope that would be helping.

Today has been pretty tough but im now wondering if im showing signs of SPD - pain in pubic area (from a dull ache to sudden very sharp intense pain), across lower back etc and generally finding iit tough to get around. I already have a referral for back pain to the phsio but think i had better call the midwife on Monday and share these latest developments.
Feeling a bit sorry for myself and wondering how hard this is going to get :(

Do you sleep with a pregnancy pillow? I use a full body one (it does get hot) but now I’m bigger I pull the back in and front right up close to my bump and don’t get any aches I got earlier in pregnancy. Leg cramp can be caused by lack of salt too so if you have been avoiding it might be worth adding a pinch to food

@NicciLovesSundays it might have nothing to do with your iron levels, but mine were fine at the beginning of the pregnancy and then just were very very bad.

But to be fair at my work place they moved 7 of us pregnant women to one section as it was the only job we as allowed to do and some girls had really tough pregnancys and some not soo much, soo maybe you're just having a tougher one (I know this isn't comforting for you) but unfortunately sometimes there isn't alot you can do, I haven't particularly enjoyed pregnancy, the baby laid on a nerve and I physically couldn't walk and they said unless the baby lays it for longer than 2 weeks I'll just have to stay in bed until then!!

Hope you start to get better soon!!
