HCG at 5 weeks

I am 5 weeks + 1 today and had a rather sizeable bleed after having sex, like a medium flow period.

DP insisted taking me to hospital and I was seen at the EPU. They did bloods but couldn't scan because of how early, saying they'd do it in a week or so but the sister said she'd call me back and make a plan based on the results.

She just called (I'm impressed, 3 hrs from bloods) and said my HCG was about 14,500 and based on that she was booking me in for a scan on Monday as she said there would be something visible at that level.

Not sure what I'm asking really, I suppose for anyone with experience, does that sound around the right level? I was surprised, it was higher than I thought it would be.

@tisonlymeagain Hello! From my experience with HCG bloods they are super variable within each person. It is a high reading, but would be perfectly normal for even 6 weeks so perhaps you are a few days ahead? Also true they should see something on a scan (in fact at my EPU they scan when HCG is over 2500!) so fingers crossed for you on Monday xx

Thanks @MrsEG I'm fretting a bit that it would be too early to see anything and that will make me feel worse.

My unit just won't do it before 6 weeks but the sister said with those levels she can refer me.
