So I have the coil In have done for 2.5 years.

2 days who me and my partner had sex and he has said to me after he thinks I’m coming on... as there was blood
so I went to the toilet and when I wiped there was fresh red blood on tissue.
after that there was nothing there and still haven’t bled anymore

does anyone know why?
i haven’t kept track of my periods since having the coil.

Incredibly unlikely to be related to pregnancy...

There are many reasons this can happen. It could be some irradiation from your cervix, or expulsion from a (totally natural) uterine contraction during sex. It could be your period (lighter on the ius). Or anything else you could think of.

Forgot to mention, if it happens again, you might want to get it checked. But you'll find gps are mostly dismissive of random bleeding and will probably say it's from the coil.

Is your smear up to date?

Forgot to mention I'm 22 so I don't have smears yet got a little bit more blood today again not enough to fill a pad/tampon.
