Low b12

Hi ladies, I have suffered with low b12 in the past but I feel like I am suffering again. For the past week or so, I keep experiencing sudden exhaustion which is how I felt when I was low years ago. The different is obviously now I am pregnant.

Who is the best person to go to, to request a blood test? Is it worth booking an appt with the GP or ringing midwife and maybe she would write one out?

Hey I don't know but wanted to follow as have a similar problem. I get injections every three months but it used to be two. I am seeing the consultant in two weeks and was going to ask them to test it as maybe it should revert back to two. I feel like I am really low on B12 but don't know if it's just pregnancy fatigue!

Hi @agteacht, what symptoms do you get when your b12 is low?

I also suffer with thyroid problems so it's hard to differentiate between the two sometimes x

Severe b12 deficiency comes with burning mouth / nerve symptoms too - do you get any of that? If it’s just fatigue then it could be thyroid (and thyroid associated deficiencies such as vitamin d) or pregnancy related (iron deficiency). Tell your mw so she can test.
