Low HCG level...possible miscarriage

So after having 5 positive tests since 31/5 unfortunately yesterday I started having right hand side pain and pink discharge, seen at hospital who said that it could be any number of things but that my hcg level was low and to come back for a scan Friday morning

This morning, discharge is more and brown but pain has eased off. I rang the EPU as they told me to contact them if anything changes.

My hcg level is just 36, so it's not looking positive only that I'm not heavy bleeding yet. They'll do another hcg check tomorrow.

Has anyone had similar & gone on to have a successful pregnancy ?

@wellthisisshitisntit sorry you are going through this stress. When was AF due - how many weeks do you think you are? The important thing about HCG levels is that they are doubling (or thereabouts) every 48hours so the second test will be the relevant one. I wish you all the luck.

I'm so sorry to be negative, but an HCG level of 36 would really only be normal in the first day or two after getting a positive on a very sensitive test. Less important than the level of HCG by itself is whether it is rising by at least 60% every 48 hours and in general a week after a positive you would be expecting to have a much higher HCG level. I think it's very likely your pregnancy isn't progressing. I'm very sorry.

Af was due last Tuesday so I'm 9 days past that.

I would be 5 weeks tomorrow, given on what the dates of my last period are however my clearblue said 1-2 weeks on Friday.

The doctor said they'd expect my levels to be in the thousands by now trying to remain positive that as I'm not bleeding and not in agony, that little bean is holding on

This will be my third early miscarriage

At almost 5 weeks my hcg was 7. A week later it was 150.

Fingers crossed but when I was 6.5 weeks and going through a miscarriage my HCG was 56 and going down. Hope it all works out x

@itsmyapplepie did they say why it was 7 ? Did you have any other symptoms ?? Did you have a successful pregnancy ?

@wellthisisshitisntit the only thing I can add is that I had no heavy bleeding or pain but still sadly miscarried. Are they testing your blood again?

I am sorry to hear that - how did you know ? I was holding out on the fact that I didn't have any bleeding

I bled when I went to the toilet only and had clots nothing on a pad. My HCG was 56 I was 6.5 weeks so should've been thousands by that point. Did a pregnancy test 10 days later it was negative

Gosh I'm so sorry to hear that, it's so horrible to go through, the not knowing is the worst

@wellthisisshitisntit I spent a week/10 days with the brown discharge and an hour of bleeding it got better I had positive tests. Then went down hill and I lost baby.

It was just really early. It went up and I'm now 10 weeks. At that stage I had no symptoms, I'd just gotten positive tests.

Hi ladies I see this is a slightly older thread but I was wondering your outcomes. I had a really traumatic MC in may, a chemical in August. I got a positive Friday just gone and started bleeding Monday. I had bloods done and my HCG is 12. Obviously I fear the worst, have also had 2 eptopics. I guess I'm looking for reassurance ☹️ xxx
