So nervous before my first scan!

I seriously can't relax and I've barely slept. I'm 8+2 weeks and I have a scan today. I booked it because I have hardly any symptoms this time. This is my second pregnancy, and during my first I was being sick at 7/8/9 weeks and this time - nothing! I have sore boobs and feel tired, but that's it.

I feel shaky with fear and so scared something's wrong. I nearly called to cancel the appointment all day yesterday as part of me just didn't want to know, in case something was wrong :( Can anyone relate to this?

Hey I'm nearly 15 weeks now and I didn't really have any symptoms either and baby is fine I'm just tired an sore boobs like you said try not to worry I no it's not that easy as I worry with every scan but u may just be the lucky one to not have any symptoms good luck today xx

EnjoyItAll · 06/06/2019 10:50

I had no symptoms and had thoughts of going in to be told I had made the whole thing up but perfectly healthy baby so far. No symptoms doesn’t mean things have gone wrong. After using this forums it’s pretty clear no symptoms are as normal as lots. I hope your scan goes well!

Thanks so much, kkl1 and EnjoyItAll! Really helps to hear that others have experienced the same. I'm currently surrounded by people who say they vomited through the entire first trimester, which has really made my worries so much worse.. Feel a little better now :)

I had sore boobs and felt so tired, but other than that I've had absolutely nothing! I'm now 14 weeks with a healthy baby so far Smile

thanks theydontknowweknow! Such a relief to hear that others have experienced the same! :)

@Sofin what time's your scan today? Let us know how everything goes, hope it all goes well!

I would try not to worry soo much. I had no symptoms at all at first... Just normal tirenedness and sore boobs (which I thought was due to expecting a period) and I was only sick a couple times throughout my pregnancy.. Even though you have experienced pregnancy, every pregnancy is different. This time could be completely different from your first..
My partner found it hard to believe I was pregnant at first because I had no symptoms and didn't start showing to roughly 25/26 weeks, he just really wanted a bump for the feeling to be real 😅 Now I only have 2 weeks and 2 day left and everything was fine throughout 😊

MrFlibblesEyes · 06/06/2019 15:16

I had a scan at 8 weeks for exactly the same reason as I was nervous after a previous loss. Baby was absolutely fine and the morning sickness never did kick in (felt slightly queasy for a couple of weeks and was sick twice during week 9) now 21 weeks and baby happily kicking away is the only way you would know he was in there! Maybe it's a boy? A lot of people say sickness is a lot milder with boys although I'm sure that is just anecdotal evidence...

Sofin · 06/06/2019 16:01

Just came back from the scan and all was well :) I'm so relieved! Crazy how pregnancies can be so different. Maybe it's a boy, yeah :) had a girl last time

oh sofin im so glad all is well

Farmmum7 · 06/06/2019 17:03

So glad everything went well with your scan I'm 15 weeks now with my third and the sickness is finally lifting but I didn't have it half as bad before with my other two it's crazy how no two pregnancies are the same! Hopefully you won't have to deal with sickness at all and now you know baby is ok you can enjoy the pregnancy

theydontknowweknow · 06/06/2019 18:38

Yay! Glad everything went well OP😊

I'm feeling the same had nausea, tiredness & sore boobs for a few weeks @ 6 weeks, but now @ 9 weeks that seems to have gone apart from the tiredness. Going for an early scan tomorrow, trying not to worry but it is so hard. Glad to hear everything is ok with you @Sofin

Sofin · 07/06/2019 10:15

Thanks so much! It has really helped to hear others have had similar experiences and I feel so much more relaxed today :) @TheStorkIsArriving80 Good luck today! I really hope it goes well for you too and that you get reassured too. I know how stressful it is, as I was literally shaking as we went in (don't understand how my husband was so calm..). Tell us how it goes if you feel up for it :)

@Sofin thank you for your kind words. I was a nervous wreck going in because they could see anything on external scan, so offered internal scan & there was my little bean beating away. I must have my dates all wrong because I'm measuring only 6 weeks instead of what I thought as 9 weeks, but everything is all good so I'm happy 😊❤️

Sofin · 08/06/2019 10:38

@TheStorkIsArriving80 Aw, so glad to hear it went well, that must be such a relief :) I'm so much more relaxed after the scan and I've even been feeling sick! Feel like my body is playing a trick on me here Confused Good luck with everything :)
