Massive bump at 12 weeks

Feeling rubbish!! Help!
This is my first pregnancy. My pre baby weight was slightly overweight (if I'm honest) but what I consider 'average'.
So I have a huge bump at 12 weeks. I have had a bump since 6 weeks and unable to fit in my normal jeans since then. Have been in maternity clothes the last 3 weeks.
Scan at 9 weeks confirmed just 1 heartbeat... although I have been told a second may be hiding.
I feel awful and huge with everyone telling me how big I am for early on.
I even had a flight attendant question how far along I was if I was safe to travel.
Any advice? Is this normal?!
Am waiting for dating scan next week when I will be around 13 +5.
Thanks in advance

You could just be harbouring a lot of water OP. I thought I was huge at 12 weeks - and I would swell up whenever I ate a meal. Now I look back on those pics and think it's hilarious I thought I was big then.

I've had people tell me from about 14 weeks that I'm showing big and won't make it all the way and 'am I sure she's not due sooner?' It amazes me how forward people are but no one knows your body and it's changes, so no one else can really tell.

I spoke to my midwife about feeling big and she told me it was nothing to worry about. Perhaps the same conversation might put you at ease.

I hate to say it, but at 12 weeks your uterus is just about emerging from behind your pelvic bones... so it's bloat/ water retention and not actual 'bump'.

I was the same in my first (and second) pregnancy and to those saying it’s just bloat I can tell you now in my case that just wasn’t true. It was firm and didn’t change size as the day went on. Even though we didn’t announce the pregnancy until
12 weeks a good number of people had guessed due to said bump. I measured ahead my whole pregnancy.

I’m huge at 20 weeks and like you have had a very noticeable bump since 8 weeks.
They questioned me at my 12 week scan, because they thought there had been a mistake and I was there for my 20 week scan.
They then noticed the baby has very long legs and arms, which I also have.
But they also said that they think I’m so big because I am very short in the body, the baby can only go out.
It has always been a joke in my family, that I am all boobs and legs with no waist. I’m 5.7 so far from short, but when I’m sat down I’m the same height as my mother who is only 5 foot.
Everyone is different, you could be like me, or have more water. No one is the same
