I suffered with HG for the majority of the first half of my pregnancy. I'm now 32 weeks and have the most horrific pile ever (I can barely walk), as well as thrush and a flipping urine infection. Anusol isn't relieving the pain, got a pessary in and have smothered in cream and am drinking so much water I can't stop getting up to wee 😭

Posting just for a moan really. Genuinely feeling so disheartened and in pain. My poor arsehole is being absolutely stabbed to hell and back. 8 weeks to go :(

Thanks sorry to hear that. Mother Nature is a total fucker sometimes

Freyasmum1 · 03/06/2019 21:09

Lactulose, fybogel and dried figs
Plus cranberry juice for the UTI

GLAMOUROUS IT AIN'T Grin

Sorry you're having such a shit pregnancy. Give your pile a name - Pippa, Petra, Penelope, Shabby Bastard - and swear at it regularly.

Sending hugs x

Teddybear45 · 03/06/2019 22:05

Freeze some cooled boiled water and use the ice cubes around the pile. It’s such a relief

maidenover · 03/06/2019 22:12

Get some witch hazel, soak some cotton wool and put it on the pile it will help to relief the pain.

I had a thrombosed pile last time I was pregnant and it was awful. It did get better fairly quickly with the witch hazel though.

AbenaMiki · 03/06/2019 22:19

I'm sorry to hear that love. Finger crossed you will have soon some relief to all of this!
X

I have a problem with my old friend ROID coming back. Doc gave me some Ultraproct which I asked for which has shrunk it. Someone on here said if it is external use Vicks on it. I did so and the relief was amazing. Would not recommend this with a UTI though.

Pee through a flannel if it's sore when you pee. And put a wrapped ice pack on your bottom to help you sleep.
.I am sorry you are having a rubbish time xx

Mondayblues7 · 03/06/2019 22:40

Go to the docs and tell them anusol isn't working. That's what I ended up having to do. Nurse was reluctant to give me Ultraproct as it's no longer prescribed for piles but my god it shrinks them fast.

SenoraSurf · 03/06/2019 22:43

Thanks for all the advice Sad
I hereby name my pile Gary! Because I'm a massive neighbours fan and he's super annoying
Just had some pees wrapped in cling film moulded to Gary, no relief so have waited for them to defrost and have lathered up with anusol. Praying to god I will get some more sleep tonight so I can try out some aforementioned remedies from you guys Thanks

I second witch hazel!!!!!
Had them with my other 3 and had to sit on a rubber ring Cos the pain was so unbearable! It wasn’t until someone recommended witch hazel that I got some relief - as you say anusol was doing nothing! Even found underwear painful and sitting in the bath a complete no go! Pretty sure they are tearing their ugly head again now I’m in my third trimester so I’ve already got some in the bathroom waiting for me! Good luck, hope you get some relief soon!

MogMogMog · 03/06/2019 23:06

Ice poles! Put one (wrapped in kitchen roll) between you're cheeks!

Oh the glamour of pregnancy. Has your HG worn off yet? If it comes back towards the end, get some ondansatron. There is nothing sexy about vomiting and peeing yourself at the same time, due to somebody doing a bladder dance!

Good luck lovely Thanks

mawof3soontobe · 04/06/2019 01:25

I could've wrote this post!! 36 weeks, HG creeping back a bit, horrific piles for two weeks that anusol won't touch, just got rid of thrush and now I have a burning sore stomach, dizziness, headaches and everything else that goes with PE except the BP and protein in urine! Praying for labour

SenoraSurf · 04/06/2019 20:38

So I've tried the witch hazel but hasn't provided any relief. Soaked some cotton wool pads in it and froze them but it's more that the freeze burn is more bearable than the pile as opposed to any kind of pain relief.

I bought some anusol suppositories today but it was mega painful and made me feel really ill and I had to go to the toilet 15 mins later so doubt that worked. TMI Sick feeling went away as soon as I pooped it out. My stupid pile is external anyway so was a long shot.

Have tried several differently shaped frozen items too but it's just so damn painful.
I struggled walking around and sitting at work today (teacher) and am genuinely dreading tomorrow.

Midwife was pretty useless and said oh theyre unlikely to improve between now and birth (7 weeks away!). Guess I've got no choice but to see a doctor.

The witch hazel won’t be instant but it did work over about 3 days for me. Definitely didn’t need to wait to give birth for it to stop being excruciating.

SenoraSurf · 05/06/2019 07:48

Never in my life did I ever think I'd have to call in sick to work because my arse hole hurts so much.
Pregnancy SUCKS.

And FUCK OFF GARY

Mondayblues7 · 05/06/2019 08:00

Are you going to try and get an appointment today? I would go in and show the doctor. Tell him it is making you miserable and that it's so painful, he should prescribe you something stronger than anusol. I was told by the nurse there are lots of different types to try all with different balances of ingredients, anusol hasn't got enough of the active ingredient you need.

I totally sympathise with you, Gary needs to do one.

Mondayblues7 · 05/06/2019 08:02

Oh. And your midwife sucks! Just telling you to put up with it. I would have come back with "ok, would you be ok to put up with a walnut hanging between your arse cheeks for the next X weeks??"

itsmyapplepie · 05/06/2019 08:19

Going to put this here for anyone concerned about getting piles. I'm pregnant and sick as a dog too op, I sympathise. The piles thing - this might help in future, as unsexy as it is

www.squattypotty.com

Just don't fall off it while pregnant :)

Lexyness · 05/06/2019 13:19

The witch hazel doesn’t necessarily provide instant relief, you need to use it after each time of using the toilet as it acts as an astringent and will eventually tighten the skin and shrink them (albeit not altogether) I don’t know of anything that’s an instant relief! I have never used pads soaked In it and placed in the freezer - just dabbed some onto toilet paper and gently patted the piles after using the toilet. Good as an extra cleanser and it can be used alongside anusol, just dab the witch hazel on first x
