Still losing weight?!

Hi all, I'm 14+2 and have been slowly losing weight my whole pregnancy. I'm overweight to begin with but assumed this would make me gain faster if anything. The first trimester I put down to sickness and aversions and although I'm still having some aversions, I'm eating 3 meals a day and snacks when I need them. I've lost 3kg so far and it just continues to shed and I'm not sure why.. should I worry?

No I wouldn't worry. I didn't gain wait for aaaages and worried just like you. Only started to gain in late second and third trimester - now my weight gain is over two stone.

@cja06 thank you, that's reassuring. I have a rounded belly that's beginning to feel hard, and my scan last week showed baby was happy and healthy, very wriggly, it just worries me that I'm still losing weight! I suppose I should be thankful at this point!

I wouldn't worry, I'm 38 weeks with my second and I'm still 1 stone down from my starting weight, I never gained anything with my first either, I was the same weight at the start of pregnancy and the day I gave birth. I like you was overweight to start with though, my first baby was healthy and no concerns this time either, my midwife has always said it's fine as baby is happily growing!

I lost nearly a stone up to 20 weeks. I was really sick & went off all food. Baby remained healthy :) from then onwards, I piled the weight on despite keeping to my normal diet. I’m big into healthy eating & my diet usually easily just maintained my weight. It was baffling but I guess my body was just sticking up after loosing so much and suddenly gaining nutrients again! I put on 3 stone in the end.. bit of a shock when I weighed myself at the end!

33 weeks and 4lb less than weight at conception at 13st. As long as you're eating enough and staying hydrated I wouldn't worry. The recommended weight gain is only relevant if you aren't already overweight to begin with. I was 3-4 stone overweight when I got pregnant and haven't gained anything which the midwife and consultant both said was fine and pretty common. Congratulations on your pregnancy 😊
