Extremely exhausted

Is anyone else extremely exhausted? All I want to do is lay in bed all the time. I'm a teacher and have just had half-term so I'm not looking forward to going back to work full time.
Does anyone have any ideas to overcome this?

Thanks!

Yes - I've been knackered throughout this pregnancy, and have been signed off work with 'pregnancy-related fatigue'.

Its normal to experience some fatigue - especially in trimester 1 - but if its getting silly its worth having a chat with your GP to check your iron levels, and other potential explanations. If they all come back as normal, then chances are its just the pregnancy... and then its a decision for you to work out whether you are well enough to go to work, or need time off. Hope you feel better soon!

I was like this till about 17 weeks - often sleeping from 8pm to 10am!! Everyone told me not to be surprised by it as am expecting twins - but it was all encompassing. Thankfully I don’t work so was able to rest as needed and didn’t have commitments I couldn’t postpone. If your bloods are ok the it’s mostly a matter of time and pacing yourself and, eventually, the exhaustion will improve!!

I was really bad 2nd time round, to the point where I had to put an alarm on for 11am to make sure I was on time to collect the eldest from play group, because otherwise I'd be asleep! I had gestational diabetes.

Yep, exhausted all the time at 10+5. Considering asking to be signed off work. Also have an underactive thyroid which must be exacerbating it somewhat! Hope you start to feel better soon - teaching must really take it out of you as it is x

I thought it was just me! From 4 weeks - 16ish weeks, every night I would have a nap after work from 5pm - 8.30/9pm then get up to have my dinner and back to sleep by 10/11ish. At weekends I would have a daytime nap or a really early night.

I'm now 21 weeks and whilst I'm not napping every single night I probably do a couple of nights a week and have midday naps at the weekends still. Other than tiredness I've had almost no other symptoms so just assumed tiredness was the thing I got!

yep, currently 15 weeks and utterly exhausted, luckily not working but due to start a new job soon so hoping some sort of normality starts asap!

Oh you poor thing. I had bone-crushing exhaustion with my first pregnancy. I'd get home from work, and go straight upstairs to bed, sometimes fully clothed. It was miserable. I'll never forget it.

Huge sympathies from me to you Thanks
