Is it implantation bleeding

Hey. So I had my BFP on the 20th May then woke up to some bleeding on the 26th May, which was deffo lighter than my period. No clots. It was 2 days of very dark red then 2 days of brown. Since then I’ve been having very faint positives/negatives on the pregnancy strips. My question is has anyone had this before? The EPU said it sounds like implantation bleeding still and to wait a week before testing? Has anyone tested after and it not been a clear positive a couple of days after it stopped and still been pregnant? I’m thinking it’s miscarried but not sure.

I know it's really, really hard OP but try to relax. Pregnancy is a stressful business :0)
I had these symptoms with both of my (v healthy) pregnancies.
Enjoy your BFP, put your feet up and relax for a bit. Make an appointment to see your GP/midwife checking appointment and you will probably have to test again (as is routine.)
Congratulations and enjoy!

It’s incredibly stressful. I had never heard of implantation bleeding before all of this, then so many people say they had it too. 🤞🏻 I am still pregnant.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you. How heavy was the bleeding? Four days of bleeding does sound quite a lot for implantation bleeding. Was the positive pregnancy test stronger before the bleeding? x

JoCooper1989 · 02/06/2019 09:42

It wasn’t just a little bit but wasn’t as much as a period. Yes it was stronger before the bleeding

Oh that's hard to know. So hard. My implantation bleeding was always more pink. That being said, I had loads of old brown blood with DC2 which continued irregularly until 24 weeks.
4 days would worry me a bit more. And I would get referred to EPU for a scan around 7-8 weeks. A pregnancy test can remain positive for a few weeks after a MC, so I would really book the scan.
With DC3 I had very heavy brown bleeding, going through several pads in one day but it stopped by day two. I was sure I'd miscarried. It was all fine after that. I did have a scan though, just to be sure.
So because it's been 4 days, I'd get the scan. But it is not uncommon in the least to have pregnancies where bleeding is an issue (like mine with DC2).
Good luck!

It was only dark red for 2 days then just minimal brown rather than 4 days of bleeding. I’ve got a scan booked for 7 weeks. It’s next Monday but seems so far away at the moment. I can’t wait lol. I really hope it’s all ok. I’m still having symptoms like nausea, increased smell and massive headaches. My boobs are a little sensitive but not bad. The headache is the worst.

The fact you are still having symptoms is a good sign! I hope the next week while you wait for the scan is as stress free as possible x

No idea why that posted again lol. Yeh that’s what I thought. I wouldn’t be having symptoms if I’d miscarried surely. Time will tell I guess. I’m just impatient and want to know.

I totally get where you are coming from. I am having an early scan on Thursday (I’ll be 7 weeks) and I’m
convinced there will nothing there!

JoCooper1989 · 02/06/2019 14:38

I really hope there is for you. Not much longer to wait. Have you had any problems?

Thank you :) I had a miscarriage last year, so am just super paranoid about something going wrong! Keeping my fingers crossed for us both x

JoCooper1989 · 02/06/2019 20:41

Oh I don’t blame you then. Its always a worry isn’t it after a MC. Sorry to hear that happened to you. 🤞🏻

My test is negative this morning 5 days after I’ve stopped bleeding completely. I’m assuming this means it was a chemical pregnancy?

@JoCooper1989 sorry to hear that. Yes I think it sounds like a CP. do let you doctor know so you have it on your records. I hope you are ok.

S311 · 03/06/2019 21:21

Sorry to hear @jocooper1989
If it's any consolation, I had a CP one cycle and ended up pregnant the next. I took my CP as a good sign that everything is working it was just not a strong enough egg. Im now w9. Wishing you the best for your next cycle

I had this, slightly. I went to the toilet and the tissue was covered in brown blood just that one time. My doctor told me it was implantation bleeding. It happened roughly 6 days after my first missed period I believe. Can't remember 100% though.

JoCooper1989 · 04/06/2019 16:12

Thanks. I’m going to use ovulation sticks this month to see when im ovulating A’s not entirely sure when it’ll be. It’s so frustrating as I’m still having symptoms. Probs all in my head tho 🙈

That's a good idea.. I did the same after my CM and my ovulation date was later than expected.
I was getting symptoms before but it was due to stress. Evil how symptoms can be the same!
