Does this look like a twin pregnancy?

Hi,
Would anyone be able to help me please. This is my scan photo, I have looked online and to me it looks like there’s two sacs. The bottom of the scan also says Fetus A so I am wondering whether this means I was actually carrying twins?

Just looking for some advice as to whether this seems I was carrying a twin pregnancy or just a single baby.

Thank you :)

It does look like two sacs but one is empty?

Mine had Fetus A and B on the slip

Did the sonography/consultant not talk you through the scan?

Babyscanhelp123 · 01/06/2019 17:35

Don’t want to get into details it’s difficult for me to talk about but no I wasn’t talked through it, this was from last year and I have only just received the image today

It could also have been a cyst. I had the same thing and it was actually a cyst. The sonographer talked me through it. And showed me and said it was a cyst so we are monitoring. It was same size as baby sac, but now shrinking.

@Babyscanhelp123 I didn't mean to pry. I had thought it was more recent so you could speak to the sonography again. Maybe you could contact a doctor and ask them to help confirm the possibilities. It could be a cyst or an empty sac but best to speak to a specialist if you want answers. I hope you get them x

I was carrying twins at my 6 week early scan. I could clearly see the two separate heart beats. Unfortunately one was slower and they suggested that it may not grow by 9 weeks the smaller baby had nearly vanished. As this scan is much later then it looks very unlikely that it would have developed into twins but it could have been an early twin that never started but then grew. Twins have to be convinced within 24 hours in each other should be at a similar stage of development.

Twins can be conceived weeks apart

Hellbentwellwent · 01/06/2019 20:49

greentulips that’s a vanishingly small chance.

Op im Sorry you’re having a hard time with whatever happened. I had very early scans with my twin pregnancy due to sickness and one didn’t have a heartbeat at the first scan which was done at 5weeks and 2 days they said that there was astill time for the heartbeat to start on my smaller twin which it did by week 6 but they warned me that if there was no heartbeat by week 6 then it wouldn’t be a viable feotus. Do you know if there were one or two heartbeats at that scan as at 7 weeks you’d expect to hear it unless it was an empty sac or the feotus had stopped developing.
