My ordinary clothes are already uncomfortable round the middle, am constantly bloated so that's probably why but I remember clothes being too tight at 10 weeks with dd (now 5) - anyone else feel they're 'showing a bump' already?!!!

Only had the one im afraid, but I remember my colleague showing much earlier with her 2nd pregnancy, think its because everythings been stretched already.

I needed mine by 12 weeks, too
I went to Next and picked up a few pairs of jeans, and just got some longer tops. Yours in luck the tops right now in fashion are longer and sit well on top of the bump

lol, I had noticed the fashion for long tops and thought to myself when we were ttc that will be good if I start getting big early on in pregnancy!! Didn't think it would be this early though

however it did cross my mind it might mean more than one embryo.........

Hopeitwontbebig · 22/07/2007 16:04

I was in maternity trousers by 7 weeks!!!!!!!! 3rd baby. So you're not alone

alonalona · 25/07/2007 09:13

i'm nearly 8 weeks and already showing - 2nd baby too so it happens earlier with subsequent babes - luckily its summer so loose clothing till the autumn..hopefully won't have to think about maternity clothes till then...

im not sure how far i am but im presuming 5-6 and im considering going into maternity clothes as my jeans are geting v tight

dal21 · 25/07/2007 12:55

For what its worth recommend getting into maternity wear once jeans etc start getting tight. I did the buying them in bigger size on the advice of women who said not to get maternity wear too early and I wish I had gone straight into maternity jeans/ trousers - they are sooo comfy!

There's no shame in wearing maternity clothes this early on - stuffling yourself into normal clothes is far from attractive, and with all the nice maternity stuff around these days there's just no need.

I bought most of my maternity stuff at 12 weeks (and needed it) and now at 16 weeks, out of my normal jeans, I can only wear my skinny jeans which sit so low, bump is not obstructed (and I have people giving up seats for me on the tube so my bump is obviously coming along nicely!)

Tops-wise, I wear a normal empire line top with a maternity vest under to cover any "riding up" situation, or proper maternity tops.

I am proud to be pregnant! The first time it all felt a bit strange, and I tried to managed with normal clothes alot longer. This time though, I was ordering from seraphine and isabella oliver as soon as I felt safe to do so (waiting til the 12 week mark just incase)

growingbagpuss · 25/07/2007 13:15

I was in maternity clothes by about 7 weeks as well - normal trousers etc just became too tight!! I had my appendix out at 11 weeks pg, and all the nurses on the ward commented on the size of my bump. Oh joy.

Now 38 wks and growing rapidly out of maternity clothes as well!!!!!! Maternity support tights (extra large because I'm tall) are failing rapidly to cover the bump so the LO had better arrive soon!!

I am 6+4 and already feeling squashed in my normal clothes. I'm back in my larger jeans I bought last year before I last the weight from ds so it's not obvious to anyone i'm pg yet lol, but I have been looking around already. Went in to Lewis's last week and asked if they did maternity stuff, woman looked straight down at my stomach, then back at me as if to say 'what do YOU want maternity clothes for' before answering 'only in underwear'.
