I'm just six weeks, and have been suffering or diarrhoea since Wednesday night. It abated a lot during the day yesterday but came back with a vengeance in the evening and I've been suffering ever since. I was on annual leave yesterday and have had to call in sick today, so have ended up telling my head of dept that I'm pregnant - can't be bothered weaving the tangled web.

Has anyone else had similar symptoms and how long did it last? I spoke to out of hours GP at 2.30 this morning and they said that I just had to keep drinking water and wait it out.

Feeling very miserable.

I've had diarrhoea from the start and at almost 16 weeks I am still intermittently suffering. Most days now it's just loose stools, but some mornings I'm glued to the toilet for up to an hour with horrific cramps and bad diarrhoea. On days like that I can't leave the house until it settles because the cramps are too painful and I genuinely worry I may poo myself.

What is your diet like? Is there anything that may be triggering it or making it worse? For me it gets worse the more fruit and veg I eat but obviously I can't just stop eating those. Red meat also seems to be a problem for me so I've cut right down.

With any luck yours will abate soon and you won't have to worry about it anyway. But if it doesn't I recommend a good diary and just keeping your fluids up
