Hello all
I'm 40 +1 today (first pregnancy) and feeling fed up! Had a sweep yesterday but since then still not feeling any signs of labour approaching. I'm booked in for another sweep at 41 weeks and if that doesn't work will be induced at 41 + 5, which I am absolutely terrified about. I know a lot can happen in 11 days but does anyone have any success stories of second sweeps that might make me feel better? (Or anyone else in a similar situation?)

No experience of a second sweep, but I had my first sweep at 40+1 and went into labour at 40+6. The final stretch is really tough, hope you're out of limbo soon OP.

I had 4 sweeps - 40, 40+4 and 41, non of them worked, was booked in for induction at 42 and thankfully was in early labour when I got there, DD was born 8 hours later. Hang on in there - sending you some labour vibes

3 sweeps even! 🤪

DC1 - 1st sweep @ 40+2, booked in for a 2nd @ 40+5 that I then didn’t need as my waters broke 2hrs before the appointment. Born later that night after a pretty quick labour.

DC2 - 1st sweep @ 40+1. Given a second one the next morning in the birth centre when I went in after contractions all night and was apparently not dilated at all Hmm DC2 born by lunchtime.

So things can change quickly, hang on in there!

My only hesitation about having a sweep if we have another baby is that both of mine have been back to back, and I now wonder if this is because the sweeps encouraged them to come too early, before they were in the right position? With DC2 they were also pretty uncomfortable, which was a surprise as I found it a total non-event with DC1.

Oh gothic mine was back-tob-back to! I'm currently pregnant with no.2, it hadn't occurred to me that the sweep might of had a role in the position of dc1 during labour.
