Wait for booking in appointment?

This is my 1st pregnancy & I’m 7 weeks today. I completed a self-referral when I was 4weeks & received my ultra scan date very quickly for July but not had any call/letter about my booking in appointment. Is this normal? Apart from tiredness & the very odd bout of nausea, I’ve not had any symptoms just my anxiety hitting the roof!

Hi @lexii81 congratulations. I am 8 weeks Smile
I received a letter with my scan date and booking in date in the same envelope. Got booking in next week. I am in Scotland though so I'm not sure if that makes any difference (I am being presumptions in thinking you are in England!) I would have thought you would have had it by now anyway as it's usually around 9 weeks I think. Maybe try and give them a call?

@lexii81 did you self refer through a website. It usually says on there the timescale of which you should receive everything.
I'd give them a call though as you must be on the system to have the scan date through so it could be that they failed to include the booking letter in the same envelope, or its gone awol in the post.
I live in Lancashire and you get your pack through within 2 weeks and are advised to call otherwise.

I had to ring the midwife unit and make the booking appointment myself, maybe try give them a ring just check they've not lost/forgot to send your letter?

It might be worth ringing your GP surgery to clarify the procedures. I was told to self refer using a form on my local hospital website but this seemed to have absolutely no relevance to anything. I still had to book a midwife appointment via the GP and then she put me on the system for a scan. I explained that I'd entered my dates wrong on my initial self referral form and she said it didn't matter, she'd be putting in the dates herself. Not sure really what purpose the self referral form had to be honest 🤷🏻‍♀️ your area is obviously different as you have been given a scan date but it's worth checking if you have to just arrange your own booking in appointment.

I'd call up and query it. I know it's a different system everywhere. I'm in Scotland and my GP gave me a number to call, when I rang they gave me dates there and then for my booking appointment and 12 week scan

Thank you! I will give them a call & make sure it’s not been missed!
