Help! La Bassine out of maxi birth pool liners!!

Hi there,

I'm due on June 10th and planning a home delivery for my third child.

I bought a birth pool second hand from a daisy birthing friend and then went on to order a liner from the relevant company. La Bassine contacted me yesterday to say they are completely out of stock and that there are no La Bassine Maxi liners in UK until 15th June!!

One option I have is to wait to see if a kit or liner is returned unused.
No guarantee. And I would have to wait a week or 10 days, to see if this may happen.

I'm starting to freak out as I can't find any available on-line to get to me in the next couple of days and as my dates are uncertain and other kids came pretty much on time, I'm not sure I have much time to play with!

Just as an aside my friend only laboured in this pool- didn't actually give birth in it but I think for sterility reasons I would still be advised to have a liner?

Has anyone used another brand of liner for a different pool with success? Could this work?

Please help mummy hive mind! What should I do??

I have the same birth pool bought 2nd hand for my first. I think it will be fine as long as you give it a good clean with Milton. Rinse off after as it leaves a white film. I bought a liner for my dd but only used it for a bit of labour and remember it being expensive with the postage. So (luckily) I decided not to get a new one this time and I’m planning on reusing the liner this time (the plastic has gone a bit funny) or using the pool without.
