Hi all so I've got a doctors appt booked for next week to check my Bmi is healthy enough to start ttc I am still losing weight in the last month I've lost another stone but still not 100% happy with my current weight and no the more I get off the better, I'm looking forward to a bump I suppose like every new mummy does but I am a bit sceptical as to if I will get one or not?
I'm a size 20-22 (24 if I'm feeling particularly bloated or unconfident haha frumpy clothes are always better lol 😂)

Anyway I'm curious as to if there will be a bump even at my size now? I'm planning to lose more weight each month but just needed a bit of pre bump motivation shall we call it so spam me with your plus size bumps please!!!

I'm size 18 and look 6 months pregnant anyway 😂 I'm intrigued/scared as to how I'll look and feel!

Nameusernameuser · 29/05/2019 18:02

Not me but someone I knew was 5 foot nothing and at least a size 24. It was very very obvious she was pregnant by 6 months.

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 29/05/2019 18:05

I'm only 14 weeks no bump at all but none of my jeans fit very well I was about at 18/20 at the start.

Size 16-18 here. At 20 weeks I now have a definite bump showing rather than just looking a bit fatter which is how I felt for the first 16 or so weeks. Good luck with your weight loss and your ttc!

FirsttimerNI · 29/05/2019 20:50

Size 18, have had a very definite rounded pregnant bump for the last 2-3 weeks. I’m 23 weeks now, BMI of 40 at booking in. Prior to that I definitely just looked fatter lol

angelix · 29/05/2019 21:09

Hey, I posted about this the other day as I'm struggling at the moment with just feeling fatter. I can tell i have a bump and that my shape is changing, but I dont think it's as obvious to others when I'm fully clothed. I think I just look fatter at the moment 😔 BMI of 35 and currently 22 weeks 🙏

WineWinner · 29/05/2019 21:23

I'm size 16/18 with BMI of 33 and from 14 weeks people guessed I was pregnant.

NewbieMam · 29/05/2019 21:39

Hey! I'm normally a 16/18 (more 18 just before conception) I'm only 7 weeks and I just feel fat. DH keeps patting my belly and I feel uncomfortable as I know it's not "baby" showing yet, I still have a B belly but I'm hoping with time it will become a D. I've done a lot of googling the last few weeks of plus sized pregnancy and some women had D bumps at 10 weeks, where others didn't get it until 30+ so I'm sure it will vary a lot. I plan on getting a bump band as apparently that helps it look more pregnancy less plus sizedSmile

Hi, I'm a size 18-20 and had a bmi of 37 at my booking in appointment. I thought I had a bit of a bump at about 18 weeks but other people started to notice it at about 24 weeks. I wear quite baggy clothes though which probably didn't help

I’m a size 22 and my bump has been enormous and very obvious. I was worried I’d just look fatter but it’s very clearly a baby bump.

Weirdly, I was a size 18 last time and my bump wasn’t as obviously a baby bump.

Holly0095 · 30/05/2019 00:25

@Sheep90 I'm nervous for these same reasons, I already feel like I have a beach ball I set my top sometimes and I'm not even pregnant yet haha 😆

I don't expect for it to be noticed straight away as lovely as that would be but I do feel nervous that I might not have that perfect rounded little baby bump that most women have.
I plan to lose weight before I ttc so if Successful and i do start to grow hopefully people will think I've just fallen do the wagon and gone big again haha

As slightly larger ladies how have you all been treated at scans and hospital etc I've heard some stories of people being told to "lift your belly out the way" or "your Bmi is way to high we need to keep you under close eye" it does make me nervous as to how I might be treated...

@KHR1 you've got a lovely little bump and showing visibly quite early from all the other comments I've seen on other sites, I hope mine might look like yours... 🤞🏼 good luck

Size 18/20 and 22 weeks pregnant and I’ve had a definite baby bump for weeks now. I’ve always got a larger stomach so worried I wouldn’t show (on a nighttime after eating pizza or pasta I would look pregnant). Pregnancy bump looks different though. I think few weeks ago people would have possibly thought I was fatter if I wore a loose top, now you can tell though. I’m quite enjoying eating tight tops as don’t have to hide belly for few months Grin

Sometimes on my scan notes they write a comment about it being difficult due to 'maternal habitus' or larger than average frame, but they've never said anything to me in person. At 16 weeks they listened to the heartbeat and I was told it could be quite tricky to hear or find but she got it straight away - I think they say things to cover themselves. At booking in the midwife's comment at my bmi was "don't worry, mine is the same". I've got growth scans booked in at 32 and 36 weeks and a consultant appointment but it's just to monitor - I see it as an extra opportunity to see baby!
