Anyone else just can not fall asleep at night? I lie in bed, absolutely exhausted, yawning away but just can not fall asleep. I spend all day dreaming of my beautiful bed when I'm at work and then finally climb in... and... what an anticlimax!!
I'm only 16 weeks, god I hope this goes away and I can get some good nights sleep in, considering I won't be having a good night sleep for a looooong time once she's here!!
Just felt like complaining a bit.

Partner is snoozing away next to me, how dare he! Wink

Hi!
I’ve been suffering terribly with insomnia this pregnancy, it started at 17 weeks and I’m now at 37 weeks. There’s been a fair few nights where I’ve not slept at all and I’ve been unable to work. Awful! This is my second pregnancy and I slept like a dream throughout my first. I seem to go through spells where I sleep okay for a couple of weeks and then weeks where I really struggle to sleep. I’ve literally tried everything and am currently having CBT which seems to be helping. The consultant gave me some sleeping tablets which helped and seemed to reset my sleeping pattern but this was only at week 31 when I was losing my mind with it all!
How long has it been happening? Hope that it eases up for you, fingers crossed it’s just a temporary phase! Xx

I haven't had it as bad as you two but what I found is that on my really bad nights I'd had a really busy day and almost over stimulated myself. I know it's hard when you are at work but could you try slowing down a bit/ doing a bit less to try and help your body not get so exhausted?

I'm only 13weeks 4 days and this is been my life since I was 7 weeks I'm exhausted some days I Carnt even go to work no sleeping and working and 2 children to look after it's a nightmare

kkl1- so sorry you’ve been suffering from so early on. I went to my GP lots from 17 weeks on and they were pretty useless other than offering to sign me off, there was very little that they were willing to prescribe. DH made an appointment for me with the midwife and told her exactly how bad it had got and they made me an appointment with the consultant straight away who was so much more helpful and gave me some things that actually work. I would definitely speak to your midwife early on, I wish I had done it sooner as it’s been so much better since then. Best of luck Xx

God, you poor things, I feel for you all. Similarly mine has been on and off basically from 6 weeks, but largely struggling to sleep for the most part. Have a GP appointment today so am definitely going to bring it up. Hopefully they won't be useless!

Hi guys so I went to my doctors today and all I got was nothing we can do for you Sadso I just gotta get on with it an hopefully my body will just let me sleep soon haha how's everyone doing

Windmill47 · 30/05/2019 22:30

So sorry kkl1. Maybe try mentioning it to your midwife, when it had got really bad they referred me to the consultant who was able to give me some sleeping tablets to get me back in to a pattern of falling asleep. One thing the GP did give me was some promethezine which is an anti histamine which made me a bit drowsy at bedtime - they prescribe it sometimes for MS so maybe try asking for that?

Hope it eases up for you soon xxx
