So I recently found out I'm pregnant, I am due to start a new job in the next few weeks. Obviously I will need to say something as my first midwife appointment will fall in a few weeks time and don't want to start off with lies. Which will be around my first or second week of work. I have not signed a contract yet, I'm so anxious about telling them. Does anyone have any advice or has anyone experienced this. Will they retract the job offer? Obviously it's early in the pregnancy (around 6/7 weeks) so I have my anxieties around that anyway.

I started a new job at 10 weeks pregnant and still haven't told them - my scan is tomorrow and I've played it off as an MRI (I have spinal arthritis) and as I only work 9-3 I said it's at a silly time that would make it inconvenient to get here, so booked as holiday. I'm not planning on telling them until either the legal limit or when I start showing.

Don't panic - unless you're in a high risk job or really feel like you need to tell, I wouldn't bother just yet. That's just my opinion though! Good luck 🙂

You don't have to say anything. I got put on redundancy review at 8 weeks and I am leaving due to getting redundancy at 12 weeks so I am going to struggle getting anything new now.

If I was like you and early on I would have no worries about it as you can't be penalised for being pregnant! I just feel bad not saying as I am starting to show now and know I will only have until Dec in the role.

Hoping some temp work comes up for me as I don't fancy that long off before the baby comes!!

This happened to me. I got offered the job and fell pregnant while waiting for my background check (it took a while haha). I was 10.5 weeks when I started, and I told them at 12 weeks when I had my scan (which luckily fell on a day off).

I was sooo nervous but they were fantastic. Absolutely no issues (apart from obviously only getting maternity allowance)x
