Oh my word!! 7.5 weeks and everything is making me feel so sick! My house is clean but it smells yuck to me!!!! What can I do to make my lounge smell nicer? Even the smell of my own hair is yuck!

Ew, Sorry, OP but you might have to wait this one out! How do lemons smell to you? Could try cutting some up and leaving them in saucers in various rooms.

Otherwise you just have to breathe through your mouth for a bit.

Anyone else got any words of advice?

KC84 · 29/05/2019 21:43

Ooo may try that! Honestly how can my own skin smell yuck to me!

Yeah this is a thing. I showered twice sometimes three times a day as I thought I smelt but when I asked those nearest they said no. And I could smell things from a mile away. It's bizarre.

Congratulate yourself on not getting a cat a few months before you got pregnant. He is so lovely and I loved how affectionate he was before but now I can't stand him being near me and the whole house smells of cat Envy.

No advice I'm afraid OP - but if it's OK I'd like to hijack your thread to ask how long the smell thing lasts? It's grim and I'm feeling guilty for starving the poor cat of affection.

Most things (including my husband and toddler) smelt repulsive to me till about 14 weeks. Hang in there!
If you find a smell which you can stomach (citrus, mint, lavender maybe?) you could put some essential oil on a hanky and cart that around with you to sniff.

Find something you still like the smell of and dab it under your nose above your lip!

DH and I were laying in bed one morning last week with the windows and curtains closed, I said I could smell it was raining, he laughed, we checked, it was raining 🤷🏻‍♀️ super sonic sense of smell!
