20 week scan

So I have my 20 week scan in two weeks
Do I need to drink water like with the 12 week scan to get a clearer picture?
It doesn't say anything on my letter about drinking or not drinking but I don't want to go unprepared

The NHS advice is to not wee 30 minutes before, you need something in your bladder but not a full bladder apparently. I have mine tomorrow so of it's any different I'll come back and post :

I didn't need to drink anything before mine. When they started scanning, she asked me to go and empty my bladder as it was obscuring her view.

My letter told me to do the same at the 20 week scan as at the 12 and then I could empty my bladder if needed to/asked to. I did have to at my 20 week scan as the picture wasn't great. I ended up having to have the scan repeated (awkward baby position) and asked if I needed to drink the same again and got told yes, it's better to have a full bladder you can empty than an empty one and have to reschedule.

Apparently my bladder wasnt full enough with DC3, despite having loads of water beforehand. They sent me off again to drink another pint of water. I suppose it depends what position the baby is in.
