Hi ladies! I am 38w and I've gained 23kg during my pregnancy. I started off at 58kg, and was generally happy with my body. I suffered from really bad pre-natal depression and I turned to food, even though I used to be a really clean eater. I'm now 83kg and I honestly don't remember what I used to look like. Every inch of my body is enormous, my face doesn't look like mine and I even have neck fat! I'm only 5"6 so this weight gain just has completely changed me. I've tried so hard to keep positive but I feel so disgusting when I look in the mirror, I've avoided seeing friends for months now because I feel so self conscious. I'm really worried that I'll never go back to how I used to be? I know I have a lot of water because my hands look like the hulk! I would LOVE to hear if any of you guys gained this much weight and if you were able to lose it all and how long it took? Don't mean to sound vain and I know its all worth it I am just so bored of feeling so horrible about the way I look! Thanks so much in advance for any positive success stories!! xxx

I put on a fair bit more than than in my first pregnancy. I’m only 5’3 and was a healthy BMI with a flat tummy pre pregnancy. I wasn’t going mad eating- the weight just piled on. Some was water retention, I think. It didn’t drop much immediately after the birth, but the weight did come off and I wasn’t exercising or watching my diet. I’m now pregnant again and I’ve put on about 16kg at 35 weeks. I think some people just do put on a lot of weight when pregnant.

I out on at least 3 stone during my first pregnancy. I was a skinny thing at the time (actually I was probably too skinny looking back on it)
I've gone with the idea that people are all different sizes generally and for a lot of people their body changes significantly during pregnancy.
It takes 9 months to grow a baby so I always said I'd give myself at least 9 months to get back to myself.
I spent the first 3 months post partum continuing to eat as I had a rough few weeks that didn't do me good mentally. But then I started to get myself into gear. I ate better and went on long walks every day. 9 months later I was back to my pre pregnancy size.
I'm pregnant again (5 years later) and was bigger to start with this time and expect I'll pile on the same. But again, I'll sort myself out at some point and will get my body back in the end.

I am 5’7 and pre pregnancy weight was 59kg. I put on 23+ kilos both pregnancies. My sister also gained the same. We get huge when pregnant! But it all comes off after. I never diet, but it all came off after a year . I’m now pregnant with my third and hoping I don’t gain as much! I don’t like seeing my pics of when I have such a plump face! But ah well, it is what it is. And at least I get my pre pregnancy body back eventually (but w sagging boobs :( )
