Were you early or late for your third birth?

Currently 38+1 with third baby...

My first two were both born at 39+6 and I'm wondering if I can expect similar. Also have never had waters go spontaneously.

So my question is, with your third birth we're you early or late? Was this similar to your first two?

Overall was the experience wildly different or did all three follow a similar pattern?

Thanks in advance! Soooo ready for this baby to arrive!!!

Sorry about this, but in my case dc1 was 37 weeks, dc2 was 38 weeks and dc3 was induced at 42 weeks 😣

Currently 40+2 with dc4 and it looks like its on the way today 🤞🏻

DC3 was the latest but all arrived around the same time.

DC1 39+6
DC2 40+0
DC3 40+2

Late. Two bloody weeks late.
The first two were two days and five days late.

Wishiwasrunning2 · 25/05/2019 17:49

One week late

sweetkitty · 25/05/2019 17:50

Third 5 days late.

Labour was 45 mins at home, didn’t really push more like a contraction and oh there’s the head, MW didn’t have her gloves on so DH caught her, DH has now decided he delivered the baby all by himself Hmm natural third stage, did have horrible after pains in the shower afterwards remember midwife rubbing my back and hosing me down, then got back into my freshly made bed and DH went and got me a McDs breakfast! Oh DD1 37+1
DD2 41+5
DD3 40+5 gush of waters followed by first contraction 20 mins later

EnchantedByGin · 25/05/2019 17:52

Ooo...that stage when it could happen any time...but also could still be another month!! Good luck with your next labour, birth and new addition. Hope the rest of the tribe take to him/her beautifully.
I was 41/40 exactly for DS1, he was 7lb10. Went into labour naturally and waters went only just before he was born. DS2 came exactly on his due date and weighed exactly the same, again labour was spontaneous, and waters broke as he was born. DS3 was 38+1 and I agreed to be induced because my waters went and labour just didn’t happen in that 24 hour window (well actually I gave myself more like 32hours), and he was a surprise 6lb er!

@HalfBloodPrincess Wow good luck! I hope
Your arrival is with you shortly

@EnchantedByGin It's definitely a weird stage! I have constant cramps and braxtons hicks - it feels like the end game but whether it is or not who knows! I think I'll be a nightmare if I go over for the first time haha 🙈

Dc1 at 37 weeks
Dc2 at 39 weeks 6 days
Dc3 induced at term plus 9

whiskeysourpuss · 25/05/2019 18:26

DC1 40+3 - waters broken with hook thing by midwife

DC2 40+4 - waters broke during a push (precipitate labour so no time for hook thing or pain relief)

DC3 39 - waters sort of dribbled... a bit like constantly needing a wee

MadeInCornwallx3 · 26/05/2019 11:07

Oh god! Some of these give me hope - others not so much! 🙈

My third birth I went over by 5 days. My first two were born a day earlier than due date, and a day after due date. On my third I went over by 5, was given a sweep (I didn’t ask they offered) and had the baby that night x

MonnieMoo · 26/05/2019 11:59

Baby 4 was 3 days early xx

Gunpowder · 26/05/2019 12:04

My 3rd was twins so they were early! (Not helpful.) It was easier and quicker than my first birth but longer and more painful than the secondZ My after pains third time round were HORRIFIC however! I think worse than the labour itself. Defo make sure you have painkillers handy for that part.

MadeInCornwallx3 · 26/05/2019 12:13

@Gunpowder I remember how bad the pains were after my second!

Planning to take paracetamol and ibruprofen this time around!

Defo. Apparently they get worse every time. I had to have the ibuprofen suppository which really helped. Good luck! Big families are bonkers but so much fun. Brew Cake
