Can you find my uterus?

Look, I'm full of questions today!

I gather that any moment now (I am 13 weeks) my uterus is going to start peeking above my pubic bone. I've poked and prodded down there (not for shower-time fun, for once) but bugger knows what a peeking uterus is supposed to feel like. Can any of you laydees give me tips/ point me in the right direction?

Is this an odd questions to ask? Gawd, what have I become?

Lay flat on your back.

Start at your belly button, with your hand flat, use your fingertips to gently feel your way down towards your pubic bone.

When you hit the right spot you should feel a change of texture under your fingers and a slight curve, which is the top of your uterus.

glad you asked this I was thinking about it today as well as I thought I felt mine last night but wasn't 100%

I was obsessed with feeling my uterus 'peeking' in the early stages of my pregnancy too. And with twins on the way, I was a little worried when at 15/16 weeks I still couldn't really feel it! But, rest assured, it does peek and when it does you'll know what you're feeling....kind of like an inflated balloon in your lower tummy....well, that's the best way I can describe it anyway!

Hmmmmm, I just spent about 10mins laying flat on the sofa prodding my belly and can safely say I could not feel anything peeking up from anywhere.

Thats it I've come to the conclusion that I've imagined the whole pregnancy! oh hang on there was definatly something in there when they scanned me!

Am i prodding too early i'm 13 + 5 ??

Top tip - check after orgasm - it contracts and goes hard and is easier to feel

...hold you hand in the right place as you climax. You will find it .... it will go very hard.

Don't forget the same can be acheived without a partner !!!

Another tip at these early stages is to wait until morning when your bladder is full - the bladder will push the uterus up further. For a while though, you might not be able to tell whether it is your bladder or your uterus you are feeling.

Best thing is incorporate these tips and have an orgasm first thing in the morning with a full bladder - without having any accidents on the way.

I wondered the same thing - have prodded till I'm sore and can't feel a thing. Had first appt with midwife on Thurs and she went straight for it up near my belly button (15wks). Since tried to prod where she found it but still can't feel anything.

Might have to try the orgasm thing. Oh dear, what a trial...
