I'm 9 weeks +3 and in the first few weeks I was getting a lot of diarrhoea. In recent weeks it's been more constipation. Now I'm getting diarrhoea again. I do have IBS and am not taking anything for it now. Just wondering if this is something I should be worried about

My bowel movements are changing all the time, but may have soemthing to do with my increase of fruits I'm eating. So I'd say it seems normal.

If you're worried though, it's always better to speak to a GP or your midwife

Thanks for your reply DeadDoorpost, I have been eating more fruit lately as well. I'll have a word with the midwife if it continues. I have to say I miss immodium

Yeah it's horrible but normal. Mine was really about 8/9 weeks. It's fine now and I'm 11wks.

I don't remember it in my first pregnancy but definitely had it with this one.

Thanks Shelbybear, I don't remember having this in my first pregnancy either, I didn't have IBS back then though

@LHMB I know how you feel! Only 5 weeks and have had horrible diarrhoea and trapped wind all week [embarrassed]

My best friend said she had it during her first pregnancy and found she went from one extreme to the other so I think it's fairly normal, hope you feel better soon! xx

Aquamarine1029 · 24/05/2019 15:21

Totally normal, so don't worry. However, make sure you're not getting dehydrated because that will make you feel even more poorly.

LHMB · 24/05/2019 16:47

*MummyBear405 it's horrible isn't it? Thank you, I hope you feel better soon too xx

Thanks Aquamarine1029, I'm finding most drinks make me nauseous now but am drinking plenty of water
