Driving myself mad- had a scare on Monday which was nothing.
This morning I thought I saw a speck of brown but again think it was the toilet paper..
I’ve just been to the loo again and nearly had a heart attack as thought I saw rusty brown specks but think it’s from the packet of crisps I just devoured and there was still some on my fingers. I hate all this, I’m just waiting for something bad to happen 😥

How pregnant are you? I bled throughout the first month. From spotting to full on drench.
I attended the early pregnancy unit and everything was fine.
Go to midwife and talk it through.

Kate3150 · 23/05/2019 12:05

I’m about ten and a half weeks... have an appt next week so will discuss then. I’m just up of sitting there analysing the toilet paper every time I go. I’ve even started taking my phone with me so I can shine my light on the toilet paper. I’m so fed up! X

I bled at 11 weeks pregnant. Baby is 11 weeks old and in my arms at the moment. I know it's easy to say but don't panic.

keepingbees · 23/05/2019 12:15

Some spotting and light bleeding is normal, as long as it's not heavy or painful. So try to focus on that just in case you do get any.
I had some light bleeding the day after my 12 week scan. Midwife wasn't concerned and said they have to press quite hard and it can dislodge some old blood. So just a word of warning! Baby was fine by the way.

KADx · 23/05/2019 12:28

I had similar i am 9 weeks and had a light bleed followed by brown residue on toilet paper each time i went to the toilet as well as mild cramping. I had worried myself sick to the point of expecting the worst had a reassurance scan yesterday at early pregnancy and saw not only one healthy heartbeat but TWO! Went from fearing the worst to being told i am having healthy twins! We worry ourselves sick and more often that not theres nothing to worry about the midwife told me my bleeding was most likely due to implantation which i assumed happened much earlier on so please try not to worry and if its getting to you as bad as it was to me call the early pregnancy unit. Was told bright red bleeding and clotting as well as stronger than mild cramping is more of a cause for concern. Hope this provides some reassurance to anyone in a similar situation as i read almost every post relating to this on mumsnet and promised myself if i had any good news id share it on here to try and stop anyone else like myself worrying themselves sick if in doubt get it checked out is the best advice Smile x

NataliaOsipova · 23/05/2019 12:33

I had a bleed at a similar point which was subsequently dismissed as “spotting”, but was more like the start of a period. She’s at school at the moment! Please try not to worry until you’ve had it checked out.

Kate3150 · 23/05/2019 14:35

@KADx- OMG that’s amazing!!! Congratulations, such a lovely story. How far gone are you now?
Thanks all for your messages, I’ve had a MC before so naturally feel it will happen again. I know that’s a bad default setting to have but so hard to get out of it. Will just have to see how things go and keep an eye on my mood. Don’t want to keep feeling like this and getting worse as I’m finding I just want to stay in the house and sleep 🙄, not great on beautiful days like this xx

This only happened just this week my scan was tuesday but like yourself in the run up i was constantly checking toilet paper and dreading it each time just assuming the worst was happening its horrible just for perspective i have also miscarried and i think that makes us all the more scared and anxious but one bad experience doesn’t mean another so just hope you can take some comfort in my experience as i was so scared and thought bad news was an absolute, got the surprise of my life at my scan but in the best way possible! I hope all is well with you too and wish you all the luck Smile xx

KADx · 23/05/2019 16:59

*Scan was wednesday not tuesday xx

Loopytiles · 23/05/2019 17:01

If the anxiety continues to affect you, eg making it hard to do day to day stuff, do seek help, I did and it really helped.

Slicedpineapple · 23/05/2019 17:13

You aren't alone OP. I was toilet paper checking until the 12 week scan. Had a tiny smudge of something on one occasion but they said not to worry as it was so minute. At 12 weeks we saw a very wiggly healthy little baby.
We then had a scare following our 12 week screening so had the Harmony test. By week 14 we found out all was well, but because of the stress, I didn't 'settle in' to pregnancy until about 20 weeks.
I'm now approaching my due date eagerly awaiting the birth of our baby.
Good luck - I am sure everything will be ok xx

TDLO · 23/05/2019 17:30

I am the same. Constantly toilet paper checking. I'm about 9+3 and had two reassurance scans due to previous loss. But I'm a so paranoid I can't relax into it. I could tell you about every type of toilet paper and what random colours they each have lol.
Think with a previous loss it's just too easy to get sucked into constant worry.
Hang in there!! Good luck with things x

Kate3150 · 23/05/2019 17:45

I just can’t believe these “specks” I'm seeing which the logical part of my brain can explain are filling with me fear and dread.
When I had my miscarriage last time I had bleeding on quite a few occasions which I actually thought were periods. Never had “minute specks”... so don’t know why I’m panicking the same???
I’m also further along than I was last time, I just want everything to be ok.
Sorry for babbling xx

I spotted for weeks with my first baby. I was terrified every time I went to the toilet. Everything was fine though! Now pregnant with baby #2 and much more relaxed about the whole thing!

Kate3150 · 23/05/2019 17:57

@HarryHarry- thank you. That’s reassuring to know 💕. I also have weekly panicks about ectopic pregnancies and loss of symptoms. I just don’t feel pregnant. I’ve had periods of insatiable hunger... and most days I have the urge to heave but I’ve never been sick. It’s just worry worry feckin worry! X

EnjoyItAll · 24/05/2019 20:47

I had no noticeable symptoms. Odd cramp here and there and slightly sore boobs and it left me worrying things were wrong. Do not let the lack of nausea etc worry you as it turns out that although morning sickness is normal no symptoms is also normal. I do not feel pregnant just look slightly chunkier and have movements now I’m 23weeks but before then it was difficult to get excited. If it’s causing you to feel overly anxious and your concerned speak to your midwife

MoominKitty · 24/05/2019 22:42

I'm exactly the same! 10 weeks here and I'm always checking. My heart almost stopped last night as I wiped and it was a bit pink, cue tears and panic, I called my midwife and have a scan booked for Tuesday now just to check. But I then came on here and found some really reassuring posts that put me at ease to be honest as it can be normal. It's so hard not to worry though isn't it.

Lisalou88 · 25/05/2019 09:01

I’m 20 weeks and still check the toilet paper every time 🙈 I had quite a lot of spotting in the first few weeks so I think it’s made me paranoid.

Kate3150 · 25/05/2019 17:34

@MoominKitty- bless your heart. I’d react exactly the same, but I’m sure all will be fine and you have a reassurance scan on Tues so hopefully that will help you relax a bit 🤞🏻.
@Lisalou88- I keep telling myself i reach these “milestones” like 20 weeks I wouldn’t toilet paper check anymore but someone I don’t think that’s going to happen lol xx

I'm am excited for Tuesday, but I'll think I'll still be like you constantly checking till little bean is out and safe haha. I hope your worry calms down for you soon, but you aren't alone hun xxxx

Kate3150 · 25/05/2019 19:14

@MoominKitty- I’ve had a scare just now. I sometimes get feelings like I’m peeing myself a bit? (Does that make sense!?) anyway... nothing there mainly clear discharge and a tiny speck of a dark yellow but I actually had to get my phone out to confirm colour 😂😂😂. I think specks are nothing to worry about though xx

OP posts:
MoominKitty · 25/05/2019 19:37

OMG yes! That's the bloody worse, however if anyone saw our internet searches they'd be in for a right treat 😂. Bring on December!

Kate3150 · 27/05/2019 19:23

@MoominKitty- hope all goes well with scan Tomo. Please let me know how it goes 💜
