Hello
We've been travelling today and after my nap I found I was a bit constipated. After using the look I also found some spotting which has gone now, but I'm totally freaking out!

We are not home and are away for 4 days with work.

What should I do, any signs I should be looking for? I'm a bit worried! Xx

Hi OP..

I had spotting at 7 weeks when I was badly constipated... I went for a scan as a result and everything was fine. The nurse thought it was just from straining and having a slightly impacted poo! Baby was absolutely fine.

Try not to worry, I think it's quite common. If you find it gets heavier then definitely call someone.

Rememberallball · 23/05/2019 02:02

I had 2 episodes of spotting between 6-7 weeks which, when I thought about it after the 2nd episode, were directly linked to constipated bowel movements. There was no pain on either occasion and we were on a cruise so not in the easiest place to get it checked out. A scan during this time showed a twin pregnancy and all was well with both embryos. I am now 21 weeks pregnant with twins and going along well.

I had bleeding and spotting from 8w for about 3 weeks. It totally freaked me out so I understand.
It is really common in early pregnancy. Signs of more concern are if it’s clots and bright red, gets heavier and has associated cramping or pain, if it continues for more than two weeks (there’s nothing anyone can do, but EPU MAY offer a scan if any of the symptoms cause medics concern) xx

@Annaflix6 you can have them early but but may not see much. At 6 weeks you may not see a heartbeat. At 7 weeks you will see a heartbeat

Legally you have to have an early scan for an ivf pregnancy. I had one at 7 weeks. Saw heartbeat, this was the photo

I had spotting at 7 weeks, after 3 days I called my midwife who sent me to EPU for a scan, all was fine with baby and no cause for spotting was seen. It carried on for a week then stopped. Midwives not overly concerned and said it does just happen to some people for no reason. I’m 10 weeks now so crossing my fingers for the 12 week scan. Good luck with your pregnancy x

Hi I’m about 5 weeks I had a scan today as I was spotting brownish blood for the past week and yesterday I had fresh blood when I wiped myself. They could find an heart beat as it’s too small yet and I’ve been told to wait it out until next week. I’m just so scared as I’m not cramping just aching i feel sick sometimes but sometimes I don’t feel anything im so confused it’s not my first pregnancy but this is the first time I have been spotting and feeling this way....

Mummytobe34 · 30/05/2019 21:40

Nearly 6 weeks pregnant

username198817 · 30/05/2019 21:43

I had spotting around 7 weeks then a few weeks later. One of the midwives said over wiping can often cause it to irritate which can sometimes cause spotting. Currently sat with my 5 month old. X

Wow that's made me feel better thanks i dread going to the loo as I fear the worst it's so nerve wracking

MoominKitty · 31/05/2019 02:46

I had the same last week after Straining for a BM. I called my midwife, the number on my notes, and got booked for a scan just to be sure. The scan showed little bean was fine and had a heartbeat, found out I was 8.5 weeks too! The nurse said its very common to spot when you strain and recommended prunes to keep me more regular if I get blocked up again. Try not to worry, but if you call your local midwives they should organise an early scan for you xx

mummytobe i had bleeding/spotting/cramping/brown blood from week 5-10, turned out the first lost of bleeding was implantation and the second lot was from a subchorionic haematoma which was about the third of the size of the sack! With that i had lots of fresh blood and clots and pain! So far ive had 5 early scans to try and locate the cause but now its tapered off.. not all bleeding is a cause for concern so please try and keep calm Smile lay off the tests as i did one at 8 weeks and it was so faint i nearly cried, i’m currently 13 weeks and still going strong!

Mummytobe34 · 31/05/2019 13:53

Fluffyunicorn98 thanks and I hope u have an healthy and easy pregnancy I will stay off the tests and try and stay positive please do keep us posted on how you are getting on. I haven't had any symptoms since last post

Has anyone had their hcg level checked with spotting ??

I had my bfp 6 days ago, yesterday I had lower abdominal aching and right side stabbing pain, trip to a&e and everything is okay but my hcg level is only 36.

I've got to go for a scan tomorrow morning and second hcg test to check they've increased and what's going on.

Hoping for good news but would love to hear from anyone who has been in a similar boat
