Nearly two weeks i have suffered from painful Hemorrhoids. Thrombosed, large swollen and bleeding. Atleast three of them. Causing me extreme pain, i have tried all the creams, ice packs and sitz bath but im still sick with burning pain. Midwife just said there is nothing i can do but wait until the babys born.. i cant walk and i cant sleep. I feel sick all the time and to top it off the skin around it has become raw and burning. I dont feel like they believe the agony i am in. At a loss to what to do and terrifed about giving birth in this state. Has anyone else suffered this bad? Can i ask for a c-section to get this baby out early. I cant do this for another week or two

Bumping this for you because I don’t have advice but it sounds miserable. I’m so sorry!

Oh you poor thing! So sorry you're going through this, it's awful! I had similar with DC2 albeit not as bad as you by the sound of it. Re. giving birth: TMI but I was terrified my bottom was going to fall out if I gave birth like this. For me, when labour started the pain of the Hemorrhoids was nulled and I got through the birthing process without any popping. They did take what felt like a long time to clear up afterwards (about 8-10 weeks with suppositories). I'm now 9 weeks pregnant with my 3rd and very worried to have to go through this again. I really hope your wait isn't too much longer. Sorry I can't be more help. Best of luck to you. X

Go and see your GP to get some cream and suppositories prescribed, OP.

Mylittlepony374 · 22/05/2019 16:00

Have you tried apple cider vinegar in bath?. Helped me. Fuck knows why but it did. Google should help with amounts / advice etc.

Poppins2016 · 22/05/2019 16:09

I had the same issue towards the end of my pregnancy. I called my GP and begged to be prescribed something (you can't buy anything that actually works over the counter when pregnant. For good reason, of course, but it's frustrating).

I was prescribed Sheriproct (steroid + anaesthetic) and it was a fast acting miracle worker. Don't listen to your midwife saying there's nothing that can be done as the GP should be able to help relieve the issue before your baby arrives (the ultimate cure!).

Definitely see your gp I got some ointment which helped the pain and soreness and some sachets to soften stools so as not agrivate the issue further. I would also say use baby wipes after a bm as much more gentle than even the softest toilet paper.

Grumpos · 23/05/2019 07:41

It’s a basic one so I’m guessing you’ve tried but I used witchhazel straight onto large cotton pads (the cosmetic type ones), applied directly to the area after every BM and several times during the day. I would also leave a pad soaked with it in my knickers pressed up against the area several times a day.
It’s absolutely horrific. They did clear up very soon after delivery though, at one point I was convinced my arse would be hanging down my knees for the rest of my life but it did get better very quickly.
Otherwise get to GP and demand the medicine pp advised, sounds likes it works!

I agree with seeing GP.
Sheriproct works.
Your midwife is being a bit mean IMO when she must know there are good treatments available.

Redken24 · 23/05/2019 07:49

Midwife isn't a prescriber get to the doctor today or even ask for a callback to get the cream.

Mumtobeagain1 · 01/07/2019 15:26

Thank you for the advice. After speaking to the midwifes and seeing two doctors and multiple prescriptions and giving up. Weirdly enough germoline dual action cream (not for piles) worked out of shear desperation i tried everything. Gave birth to my beautiful 7lbs 8 daughter which was far far less painful!! Pain has now gone. Put me off getting pregnant ever again, i wld give birth multiple times than have that pain Blush
