Does showing earlier with number 2 mean anything regarding overall size?!

I understand that everything is more relaxed after first pregnancy, and despite being naturally slim I have no muscle tone!! But I'm hoping that, despite the fact that I'm now (at 11.5 weeks) the size I was at 18ish weeks last time (more bloat than bump right now!).... this doesnt mean I'll be twice the size throughout?!

No guarantees I know, but would like to hear other peoples experiences!

I'm far from an expert but I think with baby one your stomach muscles are stronger so you show later whereas they've been pre stretched by baby one so baby two will show earlier?

I think the end size is similar but you just show early on. Feel your pain, I'm 15 weeks and look about 24 compared to last time

It’s nothing to do with the baby and everything about your muscle tone. A lot of women who lift weights and have a strong core don’t show any differently between pregnancies — my sister was actually smaller with baby 2 despite carrying a bigger baby because her muscles were stronger.

No, with my second I was showing earlier and in the end bump was slightly smaller and baby slightly smaller then the first.

Same as above post 👆
I was showing much earlier with Dc2 and thought I was going to be a whopper by the end, but ended up with a smaller bump by the end of pregnancy (and even went 2 weeks further than first pregnancy) and baby was smaller than the first one too.

Nope, ds2 was in for longer and smaller. I was bigger at 12 week scan than I was at 20 week scan with ds1. To be fair still am a year later, this tummy has stayed stretched!

Thanks, interesting to read!

Definitely lack of muscle tone isnt helping, but good to know I may not become humongous (as long as I can keep away from cake!!!)
