Faint line

So ladies my period is now 3 days late and I've been feeling constantly suck for nearly a week .
I took a cheap test one of those you get off eBay in bulk and there was a second line but barely fixable. It was definitely there and definitely pink but hard to pick up.
I'm confused as to what to make of it x

It sounds like you’re pregnant? Buy a FRER and test again.

b0bb1n · 21/05/2019 09:35

I took 5 tests and they were all faint. And I have a seven week old baby on my lap right now. Congrats :)

Laurens96 · 21/05/2019 10:16

I've been and brought 2 clear blues so trying to wait till in the morning to test but dying to find out either way x

A faint line is still a positive as long as it was read within the time window stated on the instructions :) if you leave it beyond the time stated you can get evaporation lines that are still negative.

If you’re three days late you can still take a test with daytime urine, doesn’t need to be first thing in the morning. Why not test again and share the image here if you’re unsure?

This is one I took 10 minutes ago

Oh it appeared after I posted. I can definitely see it! Was this taken within the time window? Take a clear blue as well!

Laurens96 · 21/05/2019 10:38

Yeah it can up within seconds but didn't get dark. Used the same urine for clear blue and that came up not pregnant x

Hmm. Well, it doesn’t have to go dark to be a positive: faint positives are also positive as there has to be an amount of the hormone HCG within your system in order for the line to show up at all and it isn’t present unless you are pregnant. So I’d tentatively say that you’re pregnant but the clear blue test is less sensitive. You might have to wait a few days and do a couple of tests from a couple of brands again.

Bambamber · 21/05/2019 10:44

Digital tests are less sensitive than other tests. I can see a faint line on the cheapie test though. Give it a few days and try testing again

Laurens96 · 21/05/2019 10:46

I booked into the doctors tomorrow to see if I can get a blood test done x

My doctor said that if a home test says you’re pregnant they don’t do blood tests to confirm anymore as the home tests are so accurate. Maybe they will given you’ve had a negative from clear blue though. I think you should get another couple of cheap tests (Morrison’s and tesco maybe) and test tomorrow morning rather then use a doctors appointment, but up to you :)

Orlandointhewilderness · 21/05/2019 11:05

I reckon that's positive OP. Fingers crossed for you

Laurens96 · 21/05/2019 11:07

Laurens96 · 21/05/2019 12:25

I can see a very feint line on the cheap test (and they often stay feint!!) ClearBlue are notorious for being much less sensitive than other brands and can take a good few days longer to show up as positive. FRER are far more likely to show positive once your period is due - and pink dye tests are less likely to produce evap lines.

Laurens96 · 22/05/2019 09:07

So went to the doctors ladies. He said a faint positive is still a positive and I'm booked in with the midwife for July x

Hiya, I got my first very faint bfp on a strip test at 15 dpo with a strong line on a first response, I only ever got 1-2 weeks on a clear blue and the other tests started to show fainter and fainter . I started spotting pink mucus 4 days ago so went to the epu and it showed nothing was in my uterus so they suspected ectopic. I'm currently miscarrying my 3rd 🙁
Not to panic you, I hope you're completely different but people say that tests not getting bolder doesn't mean anything when in my case it meant my levels weren't rising enough, hence my symptoms being a bit hit or miss. I wish there was more info when I was researching a week ago. Definitely keep an eye in it xx
