Dating Scan Date Too Early

Hi everyone! Been waiting so impatiently for my scan date to come through, but now that it has, I'm a little confused.

My cycle is 33 days and the NHS website predicted that I would be due on the 21st December, but despite having this information the midwife said my due date was the 16th December based on my last period.

I've just received my scan date through and by my calculation of my 33 day cycle, I'll only be 10 weeks and 6 days, and even by their calculations I'll be 11 weeks and 4 days. I was planning on telling everyone after the scan figuring it would be between 12-13 weeks, but now I conflicted whether to wait until after 12 weeks despite how the scan goes? Also worried that the picture won't be as good because it's earlier?

Anyone been in this position and can give me some advice?

I wouldn’t worry as if you have opted for the screening you can only have this from 12 weeks onwards.... so you will just be invited back for another scan. My dating scan put me 9 days behind where I thought I was.. this is based on the first day of my last period and cycle length.... and when I started testing etc and got my BFP.

I was 11+4 so had to rebook for another scan between 12 and 13+5 for the screening tests to be done.

I have opted for the screening so I hope that's the case! It says on my letter that I don't need a full bladder but I'm thinking maybe I should?

Best to go with a full bladder that you can empty if need be rather than an empty bladder that you have to fill up whilst you’re waiting Smile
